I am looking for some help. I emailed the consulate in morocco and asked them about the affidavit of support to see if the form should be mailed in or if my fiancee should bring it with him on his interview day. I got a response back from the embassy stating that the affidavit of support is NOT required for K1 visa interviews. I am confused as from what I have read here and what my attorney tells me this is a requirement? I am wondering if anyone here has an answer? Thanks so much for helping me out........................

It says here in the guides http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;page=k1guide that it is required. After you sign it and get it notarized, then make 2 copys of it, mail your spouse a copy for the interview, keep a copy and send the original copy to the USCIS (just so you have additional copies in case)

I did read the guides yes and thankyou for your response. I guess I am just wondering why the consulate would tell me it is not a requirement? I will have him bring it with him though just to be on the safe side. Thanks again for your help!

Better to have too much information than not enough (my motto) and if they don't need it then they don't need it, but better to have it in case they ask for it.

The new version of the I-134 does not need to be notarized.

Post your question in the MENA regional forum to get some Casa specific feedback.

That sounds unusual, but that doesn't mean it isn't true. When dealing with the consulates you can never take anything for granted. :)

My husband had his K1 interview Dec 2008 and it was not required. I have not seen any recent cases where Casablanca requires it for a K1. They seem to do things different than other consulates (i.e. no Packet 3 to return, etc).

Wish-upon-a-star-1.jpg

2009-07-11 AOS packet mailed (and supposedly delivered the same day)

2009-07-15 NOA1 for I-485, I-131, I-765 (USCIS rec'd date is 07-12)

2009-08-05 Case transferred to CSC

2009-08-12 no biometrics yet.......called on 30 day mark to report no biometrics, a service inquiry has been made on the case.....

2009-08-25 - received Biometrics appointment letter!

2009-08-27 I-131 (AP) approved

2009-09-15 EAD Card production ordered!

2009-09-23 EAD Card received

2009-10-06 GC approved/card production ordered

Actually, if you talk to many people... the consulate hardly ever looks at that form..
