My fiance had to recently change his phone number due to constantly getting wrong number calls. All the phone records that we have are with his old number, should we get something from the phone company stating that he changed his number? I know the details are important here. Also while I'm on the subject of phone records, I am able to print the last year of records from verizon wireless, what is over kill when sending records and also photos?

Thanks

Robin

Oh and about the change of phone number, if you submit phone records, doesn't it have his name and address - or at least name on them anyway?

Most of the phone records are coming from my end because shaw can only get him the last three months, but I'm guessing that'll be ok.

I just want to make sure all our bases our covered.

Now I'm curious. Did any other CanAm couple send in phone records? I haven't heard of anyone.

Joe_Robin.... the CanAm couples don't really have too much burden of proof. It's mainly directed towards the Consulates/Embassies in countries where it's nigh on impossible to receive a tourist visa, with a slightly lesser emphasis on the VWP countries. When you live in Canada, whether as a citizen or an LPR, it's fairly simple for couples to visit each other.

If you do send in your phone records, just mention the change of number in the covering letter. But, like Trailmix says, the names will be on the documents anyway. However, at this stage of the game you are mainly looking to prove you have met within the last 2 years..... which phone records won't accomplish. I don't believe you need to prove a relationship until Package 3. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

I sent in a printed list of every phone call longer than 60 seconds that we ever made to each other. Cell or land line, chronologically ordered.

Then again, I'm insane and #######.

I also photo copied every card Peachey ever sent me with post mark, and even tickets to zoos/aquariums/sporting events.

Montreal Interviewer: "What do you have in common with each other?"

Peachey: "We're REALLY weird."

Montreal Interviewer (incredulously to me): "Do you agree with that?"

<I think back to several days before the interview. Driving through the country, passing a field with cows...>

Peachey: "MOOOO! MOOOOO! Does this make me weird?"

Me: "No, well yes. Here, let me roll down the windows so they can hear you better!"

Peachey: "MOOOOO!!!!"

<back to interview>

Me: "Yes, yes I do."

I would love for someone to do a graph related to the amount of junk proof sent

There was a question in some forum here last night that I read, the question was - I am taking 5 photo albums with me to the interview, since you can't carry bags is it ok if I take them in a cardboard box.

In the junk category, was probably the receipts from meals we had together in Canada.

At the last minute, I decided to not include them.

I was just following the guides and trying to be thorough.

I hope they appreciated that I organized all the phone records, receipts, card photocopies, hotel receipts, plane tickets, various other event tickets, and our DragonCon badge photocopies by date. It took a long time.

I hear you Varba.

Here is the thing I don't understand, now we did not apply for a K visa, so maybe people who are look at it differently.

I have read the instructions for the I-129F - in there it says,

Provide copies of evidence that you and your fiancé(e) have personally met within the last two years

That's it. They aren't asking you to prove an ongoing relationship even, just that you have met within the last 2 years. It would seem that the other proof of relationship comes in to play during the adjustment of status.

It just seems to me (and I could be wrong) that VJ folklore comes in to play a lot in some of the forums. One person will get an RFE for lack of evidence and all of a sudden people are taking 5 photo albums to the interview.

So I always think, if I was working at USCIS and I had a choice to pick up a file that was 15lbs or a organized file that contained a few pages of evidence, which one would I choose. According to an adjudicator, who used to post on VJ, part of their job performace is assessed on the number of files they get through.

"An Adjudicators job performance is based on several factors. 1) how many files (petitions) you process everyday 2) number of applications "kicked back" because you made a mistake and they shouldn't have been approved and 3) attention to details and how many errors you make. Management gets a report on each Adjudicator (we all have a individual ID #) showing the total # of petitions processed, number kicked back and how many errors we made. They can call this up anytime and we were required to keep a daily tally of the work we did. When performance appraisal time came around, you would discuss your individual performance with your supervisor".
