It is so disheartening to have your NOA2 and your package gone through NVC, then realize that you are going to have to wait approx another 6 months. Especially when many other countries will be with thier SO's in a little over a month.

Are the consulates seperate from the Embassy? Would there be any benefit in also sending letters to the US ambassador?

Colleen

Consulate = embassy.

Montreal: BEAT!!! Approved!!!!!

I was thinking that because the Embassy was home to the ambassador it may be a little higher up on the food chain!!!

Part of me is wishing I could get my fiance to move out west so his consulate could be in Vancouver. Are the US consulates in Canada like the Service Centers are here in the States -- where you HAVE to go through the one that's "closest" to you (or, in the States' case, the one your state is assigned to)????

I haven't even gotten NOA2 yet, and I'm already worried that my projected wedding date is going to go up in smoke. :( I feel horrible for those that have been waiting longer, too... :/

yeah my projected date was on the 16th, but thats shot. Unfortunatly if he lives in ontario or east he goes through MTL, if he lives from Man west he will go through VAN.

Well my fiance called NVC today and a lady confirmed once more that the Montreal embassy is very short staffed and that we should look towards a FEBRUARY interview. Looking at where everyone is at right now, February seems early. Be still my breaking heart, be still.

The worse part is that he has used up all his vacation days (because according to current timelines we looked at, we should have had our interview, wedding and move by the end of this month or latest next month...so he spent all of them with me already) we will be having very expensive travel expenses for turkey day and Christmas. And because he is an accountant, there will be no time off starting January...

So Im going to abandon all logic and see him in November for two weeks. If the CBP person demands a reason why Im seeing my American hunny while having a pending K1, I hope he/she is all ears because I have quite a mouthful to say. Who knows, we might even cry together.

SIGH it feels good to rant.

Anyhow -- my fiances mom's coworker's son petitioned for his French fiance (now wife) to come to the country using the K1 route. They were also in backlog limbo for some reason and couldnt get an interview date, so the he (the petitioner) called his senator (Barbara Mikulski) to inquire about the process. Anyway the fiancee had her interview a week later. Im going to ask again how recent this "senator phone call inquiry" was to see if its relevant to any of us. My fiance plans to call her office this week but I think given that Montreal is already in a lot of pressure (according to the NVC agent, shes had several calls today, all of which were regarding Montreal interviews), it might actually hurt our case.

I hope those of us waiting for an interview get a date -- ANY DATE -- soon. It will at least give me some flicker of hope :(

Finally married... and still married... ;)

February for someone who sent the packet in August?

Maybe it's time to say goodbye to the plane ticket I could have used by March.

The only hope I can give is that October isn't over yet. My letter was sent out on the 1st of Oct for the end of Nov, so if that happens this month we might see some ppl getting December interviews (I hope) where they though they wouldn't get one till January. I really really hope so....

Wow...February for K-1's? That's terrible. :( And you'd think with all the unemployment they'd be able to find people for the Montreal Consulate...

Im just really thankful that I found this forum because you all really understand how Im feeling. Even at times my fiance, who mirrors everything that I feel right now, doesnt understand why I just cant shake the blues and lately all this visa talk gets both of us all worked up and at each other's throats :P

I actually should be part of the July group but of course stupid Montreal FORGOT to mail packet 3. Something about "mail failure delivery system". I got my NAO2 on June 30 and according to NVC, Montreal "mailed" P3 the first week of July. But they didnt, and good thing I called NVC by the end of July or I would still be waiting for P3 huh :P

But you know what, lets all keep our chins up. Maybe this is the "for worse" part of "for better and worse" and after this, things will just get better and better.

Funny thought: I wish there was way I can quantify the misery and save all the tears Ive cried during this horrible K1 process -- I dont think theres any more genuine proof that our relationship is true AND ongoing to bring to the interview :P

I'm almost glad I'm going to face my all time fear of flying to go to the interview... whenever that may be. Then they will see what this whole process has done to me, because I doubt I'll walk out of there without sheading any tears. I cannot count the number of times I've said a silent prayer in thanks for finding this forum. At least here I can vent my frustrations and sadness, and people will actually GET me instead of being like "Oh well, just be strong" or the other "favorite" --- "I know how you feel." UH NO YOU DONT. (well, at least no one that's said that to me knows...)

Sigh. :(

I definately hear you on that, I should have been part of the June group, but they are dumb and dont know how to put stuff in an envelope, or affix the proper postage...or whatever made us never get it.
