My husband and I plan to have a baby soon due to some medical complications. However I was wondering

1. If I get pregnant and my CR-1 is still in process – will that slow down the process. Is there any procedure to be followed with the visa officials for the unborn baby ?

2. If the case is prolonged and we have the baby before the visa is issued – will that be a problem ?

The baby doesn't officially "exist" until ti is born, for the visa. So no worries there. Being pregnant won't slow down the visa process itself, but there may be some complications, such as not being able to fly to move to your husband when heavily pregnant, and not being able to take some vaccinations while pregnant (as you are not pregnant yet, you may want to do the vaccinations before ttcing). If baby is born in your country before the visa process is complete, it is most likely a US citizen from birth due to its fatherm, and you can file CRBA (consular record of birth abroad), leading to baby getting its own US passport.

I got pregnant (not intentionally) right before we got NOA2. I was 4.5 months pregnant at the time of the interview and it was no problem for the council, she even asked me if we're planning on having the baby in the States, to which I answered "We hope so"... and we were fine with that :)

... but if you're already too close to giving birth with only a few days till your interview, the consul will more likely hold your case until you update them with a completed CRBA. Much more if you already gave birth and pursues with the interview. You're pregnancy has nothing to do with the visa process.

Only be well advised that if you had your baby before your case is complete - you MUST file for a CRBA asap.

yes, they give you a document from the medical place - it says in it you are pregnant and due to it you could not have the x-ray and some (eventually) vaccines. it's kind of a waver for the embassy. there will be also no problems when entering the states, don't worry. btw, congrats on your pregnancy :) i'm 6,5 months as well :) we are going to have a boy. pray for a faster approval and end of this visa journey so you and baby can be with ur hubby soon

My wife and I are over 7 months pregnant. We had our visa expidited and she is flying next week to come home. There is no complications with most airlines to travel.

Also the mebassy rushed our visa to get her home in time. Even threw Ap process it lasted maybe three weeks.
