Supporting documents for an ITR (such as W-2's, 1099's etc) are not needed if submitting a IRS Tax Transcript.

The reason is, all this 'supporting evidence' (such as W-2's, 1099's etc) has been transcribed by the IRS and is included on the transcript itself.

I sent my IRS transcripts with Shirr for her interview. The lady at the pre-screener window did not understand what the transcripts were. She insisted that Shirr needed to submitt my 1040 tax forms. Shirr tried to explain that the transcripts were the same thing but the pre-screener did not accept them. She did stamp them but refused to keep them. Shirr was told to show the transcripts to the counsel if asked. Shirr was never asked and we still have the transcripts with the offical stamp and I expect some where along the way we will need to show them.

Shirr got her visa and is here with me and just got her Green Card a few weeks back.

If you have the same troubles as Shirr did just do as Shirr did and I expect all will be well.
