hello again,

our noa2 is expiring in mid november and i was worried that we wouldnt have our interview before that. after a bit of research, it seems that a lot of embassies automatically extend the noa2 another 4 months when this happens. i just want to make sure that london does this as there seemed to be a bit of confusion as to whether all or some of the embassies automatically extend your noa2.

another thing, will i need the noa2 to not be expired after we get married and apply for aos?

thanks again guys.

boy, looking for a job in this market wouldn't be so bad if i had my baby with me :crying:

If you've filed all of the necessary paperwork, and the delays are because of the consulate, then they will usually automatically extend the validity of the petition approval. They may not automatically do this if the petition approval expires while they are waiting for documents from the beneficiary.

Just to be on the safe side, you can contact the embassy and ask that they extend the approval of the petition. That will confirm that you haven't abandoned the petition. Check with the embassy to see what their process is for this. Some require a written request, while others will respond to an email request.

You'll need a copy of the NOA2 for the AOS, but it can be expired at that point. Once the visa is issued, the NOA2 can expire with no consequences.
