My husband is a army instructor and coaching soccer. That is why most of his time is at school work but I understand him being very busy and I'm very supportive to him... when he comes here for a vacation I helped him doing his paper works for school. You know K3 and CR1/IR1 visa have same time line now... for advice you go for CR1 visa for less paper works. We filed I130 last May and now we are waiting for case complete at NVC. Hopefully by christmas we are already together.

May 20, 2009 - I-130 sent

Aug. 21, 2009 - I-130 APPROVED

Sept. 01, 2009 - NVC received & case# assigned

Oct. 19, 2009 - Log-in FAILED (YEPEE!!!!)

Oct. 20, 2009 - Case COMPLETE!!! (confirmed by the NVC operator)

Oct. 27, 2009 - Interview Date assign(By NVC operator)

Nov. 16-17, 2009 - Medical PASSED

Dec. 04, 2009 - INTERVIEW(APPROVED!!!)

Dec. 08, 2009 - Visa pick-up at the Embassy

Dec. 16, 2009 - CFO

Dec. 19, 2009 - My Flight - POE (JFK New York) via NWA

Thank you Lord for guiding me in this journey.

Our time line for CR1 visa took only 5 months and 1 week or 156 days; from the filing the I-130 on the 03-12-2009 to Approval of NOA2 on the 05/13/2009, then Interview on the 08/18/2009 at Manila, Philippines. We had a daughter on the 11-12-2010 named AISHA JOY means HAPPY LIFE.a1_opt-1.jpga2_opt-1.jpga3_opt-1.jpg

Hi there. :) Which part of the Philippines is your wife from?

We're doing K3/K4 also. Our interview is tomorrow morning at 7:00 a.m. Am going to the Embassy with our 10-year-old daughter. (Note: Pippo is my child from my first marriage, but my husband loves her very much so she is like his own...so we call her our daughter.)

Rick is a special needs teacher for adults in Florida. He spent the entire summer (June to August) here with us.

Our main reason for pursuing the K3/K4 was like yours, we simply want to be together quickly. We could easily have gone the CR1 route (since we have been married for less than 2 years) and we do understand the costs of adjustment of status, however, aren't airfare and hotel expenses for every visit just as costly?

Rick has been to the Philippines 4 times since we first met in August 2009 (over a year, like you and your wife)...that's almost 10Gs he has spent in flights and accommodations (though in the summer he lived here at our house, still we spent quite a bit of money to entertain ourselves as well as deal with our day-to-day living).

The AOS fees will pale in comparison to that figure...what matters in our journey is that in the end we are reunited, so the waiting will end. All the same, we respect everybody's choices in terms of visa process...in the end we choose the visa path that not only brings us closer to our loved ones, but also meets our individual needs.

Let's not forget to mention our daily costs to keep in constant communication (PLDT phone cards to call him during my lunch break and MagicJack at nights & weekends). Rick flips his schedule around at nights and the weekends so he could be with me while I was awake. He is very devoted and I feel blessed that he is who he is. Of course, all this staying up nights while trying to maintain his regular work schedule & home errands is finally catching up with him...he hasn't been feeling well for a number of weeks now, and I am afraid that if we are not home with him soon, he will be in worse shape.

We hope your journey is a good one, and will lead to the pink slip we are all aspiring for. :) You have our support.

Be smart, have a plan, and hang on to the people you love. - Chris Gardner

Hi,

I am currently awaiting my paperwork to be ok'ed so I can enter the United States to be with my husband. I am in Manila...so I was wondering how many people are in the same situation that I am in. My husband and I are doing K-3 and we filed in the month of September so any insights or anyone with advice or just general friendship is greatly appreciated. This can be a very trying process so I think its great to help each other out as much as possible. Thanks for your time and I hope to hear from a lot of you....

Hi,

Your so right about the costs my phone bills alone for the first two months back was over 500 a piece! Yahoo messenger was just not doing it for me. Then i discovered skype! WOW...now i know!...nothing new for some of you...however I left my wife with a lap top then i have her connected using globe as her internet and we now can see each other and talk unlimited time for free! WOW...I can't help and wonder how people did this ten years ago and not have this service... :( This has made all the difference in the world casue I told my wife I will pay for the internet and her sisters electricity if she would consider her job is talking with me and she does this. So we talk in her evening which is my morning of course 5am until 730am then I go to work. I get home around 6pm so we talk from 630pm-midnight. So we are majorly growing in our realtionship even though I'm not there...So to anyone not using skype...it is so worth it but i know to get the ultimate use out of it you both need a computer and have access to the internet and the best service is to have unlimited internet at a monthly fee. Using Smart and paying by the hour is still expensive. Hope this can help someone...

Take care,

Mike and Enchiel

Just hang in there. :)

We passed the interview, now it is T minus 13 days before we go home (waiting for the visa to arrive). :D

You should ask your wife to try MagicJack. She attaches the USB connector to her laptop, and any phone on the phone jack attachment. Then she registers a US phone number, and voila...using her Internet connection and a phone she can call any number in the U.S. or Canada. The registration fee is US$ 20 a year. No monthly bills. You don't have to buy Skype credits anymore.

I agree with marriedtomrg about the magic jack. Magic Jack will save you and your wife from the phone bills. Esp when your case has reached the NVC, your wife might want to call the NVC to check the status thru a live agent/operator. If you don't have a phone you can use the Magic Jack with the headset, much better bluetooth headset, so u can go 'round the house and not just stay infront of the computer when using the magic jack.
