noa2 expiring concerns

hello again,

our noa2 is expiring in mid november and i was worried that we wouldnt have our interview before that. after a bit of research, it seems that a lot of embassies automatically extend the noa2 another 4 months when this happens. i just want to make sure that london does this as there seemed to be a bit of confusion as to whether all or some of the embassies automatically extend your noa2.

another thing, will i need the noa2 to not be expired after we get married and apply for aos?

Yes, since you have sent in your packet 3, they know you are actively purusing the visa and they will automatically extend it. Technically you'll need to provide a notorized updated statement of intent to marry. Nothing fancy, can be the EXACT same wording as what you sent in with I129f (Or not, if you haven't saved it) just a closer date. I'm not sure I've ever heard of anyone needing to provide this, but it's on the checklist as well.

There will be no rushes for marriage or AOS, a different clock starts when the visa is issued, and the NOA2 date has nothing to do with it.

thanks for the info. i wasnt aware that we had to provide another intent to marry letter. that makes sense now tho because i was wondering what "notarized documents" on the checklist meant since you don't have to notarize affidavits of support anymore.

Nope.

From the checklist:

If more than 4 months has passed since the petition was approved, you will be required to furnish a notarized statement of your intent to marry within 90 days of your arrival in the U.S.
