Well we have one of the butterball breasts, potatoes, yams, gravy, stuffing, now we just have to actually make it.

All that talk of strategy etc... and all I could hand was one plate and not even a full plate at that!

I disappoint myself! :crying:

Well, at least you can try a different strategy for Christmas, you need to start working on that now!

Well, mel has shown no interest in a turkey dinner tonight. However, I still feel I should get something that she would like. She keeps telling me not to worry about it, but of course, I'm not

Probably going to end up stopping at 2-3 restaurants to pick up some take out for dinner. A collection of her favorite things I will try to get.

Did you eat at all during the day?

Because if you didn't, your stomach temporarily shrank due to not eating and that's why you couldn't eat all that food.

Don't worry. I couldnt finish my plate either.

Yes I ate. I had oatmeal for breakfast and I had a light lunch.

:(:(:(

Oh well I just woke up from my half hour power nap and I'm ready for round two!

OH guess what else... we cooked that bird with the bag of gizzards inside it! We looked for it this morning and couldn't find it and then Mike was cleaning it up and came in the room and said: "I found the bag of gizzards... it was up at the front kind of hidden under the skin..."

I remember on AFV once there was this video of this lady who was so exited about cooking her first turkey and she was so proud of herself.. and she even explained that the turkey came pre-stuffed.. everyone thought that was odd until they realized that the lady had thought that the bag of gizzards was the stuffing

just enjoying our turkey breast - it actually took about an hour longer tp cook than the instructions said it would so instead of being ready at 6:15, it took until 7:15 by the meat thermometer to be ready. It is very tasty - and even came with a gravy bag to add to the drippings to make gravy. In addition we have carrots, mashed potatoes, cornbread stuffing, cranberry sauce and a green salad. And lots of leftovers, yay!

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

One of best things about turkey is the leftovers...

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Ok, that was a really good dinner - the turkey was actually better than usual, I have no idea why, but it wasn't so dry - and just delicious - everything was, if I do say so myself.

With enough left over for sandwiches tomorrow!

I had a leftover ham sandwich for supper yesterday, and lunch today, and have enough for another one... I also have some leftover turkey and stuffing, and tonight I had a snack with apple tarts and pumpkin pie... *sigh*.... :innocent:
