AS Obama handed out white coats for the 150 docs he corralled up to DC, the unintended result is the unleashing of "Doctors for america" response.

(You have to love this stuff).

'Doctors for America' launches

This may not wind up being decisive in the health care fight, but the organizing gap between the two sides continues to widen.

Sen. Max Baucus and the Center for American Progress Action Fund are announcing a new group on a conference call later this morning: Doctors for America, which is a reincarnation of Doctors for Obama, an arm of the Obama campaign that boasted more than 10,000 members.

The question of patients' relationships with their doctors is always a flashpoint in debating changes to the health care system, so doctors are often particularly credible messengers.

Today they'll "release new reports detailing the depth and breadth of America's health care crisis and announce a new effort to amplify physicians' voices in support of health care reform," according to the advisory.

Its amazing really - no sooner is this ####### on Fox News than it appears on VJ as well.

Does anyone seriously care about Doctors wearing lab coats at a photo opportunity, or that this is somehow some new even more devious form of political theatre?

Who the ** cares? Honestly...

The NY Post, actually. Interesting, how out of touch them Republicans are - not just with the American people but with the physicians as well.

The Republican National Committee shot back with a response from Rep. Tom Price (R-Ga.), who was an orthopedic surgeon before being elected to Congress.

"Today, the president wants you to believe that the medical community supports his government takeover of health care. Don't be fooled," Price said.

...

House Minority Leader Rep. John Boehner (R-Ohio): ... "Members of the medical community -- who deal with red tape day in and day out -- rightly recognize that the Democrats' government takeover would weaken the doctor-patient relationship that is so critical to making the right health-care decisions," he said.

Really, gentlemen? Seems to me that you divorced yourselves from reality in order to make these claims. That reality being that support for a public / private insurance option mix is greater among physicians (63%) than the average of the polls among Americans has shown (52%-69%).

Ahhh, this is "Off topic", is there anything meaningful posted here?

The best we can do is be amused.... which for me comes from those who were so full of Hope-N-change.

IN other words, don't take the ####### I post any more serious than I do.

New flash my friend..... these number are meaningless since we DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT THE PLAN IS to be in favor of it or not..... they say "the Devil is in the details", we don't even have a rough draft from Obama.

Perhaps that shows how important this issue really is to him.

Got two news flashes for you, buddy.

1) Last I checked, the Congress, not the President, drafts and passes legislation.

2) The public option is no big mystery - it's a publicly administered, medicare like insurance program that people under 65 would have an option to purchase instead of private insurance coverage. People, except for Sarah Palin's "Real Americans" of course, have a pretty good grasp on what it means.

He's aware of this. The Clintons tried to have Congress pass legislation that they had drafted for Congress. Didn't work out so well. Which is why Obama left the drafting to Congress after outlining the requirements that the legislation would have to meet for him to sign it. It's how the process is supposed to work. And it may be why this President has already gotten closer to getting legislation to his desk than any of his predecessors in the last few decades.
