DS-3032 slowdown?

Hey everyone! I will be interviewing thru the Montreal Consulate (yay), my NOA2 was approved on the 26th of May, I was thinking that I might call NVC on Tues (June 2) hopefully they'll be able to give me a case number.

Soo assuming they ARE able to give me said number, that's when I'd give them our email addy's yes?

And then, will I be able to "opt in" for email processing at that time?

Sorry, for the redundant questions, I'm trying really hard not to miss anything PLUS be able to process thru with the fastest route possible.

Kathy

I am asking my wife to send in the DS 3032 Template via email ASAP. I will be sending in the hard copy from my US home. It is my understanding that the Email does not need a bar code. Does the signed hard copy being mailed need a bar code? I have received a NVC # so Can we now email and mail the DS 3032 in prior to the NVC sending me the DS 3032 packet? THANKS

Hi Tom - let me dissect yer stuff for a moment, yes? Please?

I am asking my wife to send in the DS 3032 Template via email ASAP

Great. She's done, finished, with DS-3032 submittal, once she's sent off that email.

I will be sending in the hard copy from my US home

This is redundant, when using the email template

It is my understanding that the Email does not need a bar code

IMPOSSIBLE TO INCLUDE ANY BARCODE with an ASCII TEXT EMAIL. But you could try, I suppose.

Is no 'barcode requirement' for an ascii text email.

Does the signed hard copy being mailed need a bar code?

No, is optional.

I have received a NVC # so Can we now email and mail the DS 3032 in prior to the NVC sending me the DS 3032 packet?

Yes, but pick one, ya? Don't do both. As is, from what I'm reading here, yer choosing to do both submission types on the DS-3032. Don't. Choose One, stick with it.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Thanks Darnell for the below clarifications, helpful to know.

OK - so after 3 months of tracking this, and paying attentio to Wyatt's Torch (thanks, buddy ! ) I'm suggesting this process is workable (my apologies if this is listed as 'gospel' elsewhere or in a wiki entry) :

If you've been calling NVC, once yer casefile is at NVC - and IF the tele-operator TAKES the two email addresses (one for USC and one for the foreign spouse ) then

You'll receive, via email, a 'ds-3032 kit' - which consists of:

1. email with payment portal info

2. non-fillable PDF version of DS-3032

3. some barcode info .

That first payment to make is for the AOS - the I-864 - so if you signup for the online payment portal - you can track what's going on, make payments, check payment status, etc...

The cycle then goes like this:

1. pay online.

2. wait 2 days (but keep checking online payment portal status) .

3. when status changes to PAID - get the payment receipt AND coversheet from the online payment portal.

4. PRINT the payment receipt AND coversheet.

5. send off the form, the supporting docs, and the coversheet and payment notice to NVC.

Once 5 is finished, keep checking the online payment portal and your email for the NEXT thing, then go through the cycle again.

Unless things have changed this week, the AOS (I-864) is first, then the IV (DS-230) is second.

ACCEPTANCE for the DS-3032 is not a factor for 'first payment', not at all. IMO, all is 'payment driven' and the 'acceptance of the DS-3032' is a seperate task, run in parallel to payment. Sure, it must be 'accepted' before NVC declares your casefile 'complete', but - it's not a 'process stopper' - not something to 'wait on'.

What matters, is that an NVC Tele-Operator has sent to you, a 'DS-3032 kit' email.

So, if you don't have one of those, please call NVC, and handle that bit.

Where am I at in the process? :

-Oath Ceremony scheduled for Feb 7, 2014 (scheduled late by request)

-Successful Citizenship interview, Dec 11, 2013

-fingerprint appointment, Oct 24, 2013

-applied for Citizenship, Sep 2013

-received 10 year green card, June 12, 2013
-conditions removed, April 11, 2013 (YAY!)
-biometrics appointment Oct 16, 2012
-I-750 NOA1 received Sep 23, 2012

ya, the barcoded coversheet is enough - not need the payment receipt.

I need to rewrite this, things have changed up a bit (ie - ds-3032 and aos fee bill come in seperate emails now)

Hello guys,

I sent the DS-3032 on August 10 for my daughter, and I didn`t receive anything to pay the IV(DS-230), my Hubby received the AOS, and we pay, and is PAID already on NVC website.

how long take to they send some, because I remember that my(CR-1) was more fast, like 5 days!!

That IV bill won't show up in the online payment portal UNTIL the DS-3032 has been attached to the casefile at NVC. At this stage, check the online payment portal once a day after 3 PM EST. Once the DS-3032 is attached to the casefile, the 'first notification' that they're ready for the DS-230, is the IV fee bill showing up as 'available to pay' - it's a visual thing.

Good Luck !

Thanks Darnel,

today my wife got e-mail from NVC that they received the DS-3032, so I did Pay already the IV FEE.

DO you know if NVC will want a proof letter stating that my step-daughter's father will let her live in the United States? My wife was not married to the father and he verbally agreed with her moving to the United States. My wife has never went in front of a judge to gain custody of the child, But she has always raised her on her own.
