Hey guys - I was on on the SS website today and saw this "Request a Social Security number card as part of your Department of State immigrant visa application." I was just curious if any of you did that? http://www.ssa.gov/ssnvisa/eae_info_sheet.html

And yes, I know there is another forum for SS questions but wanted to ask you guys first.

I believe it only applies for immigrant visa applicant. I did it in my immigration application and i got my SS# 9 days from my arrival date. Yet, wait for more replies from our fellow VJ members.

shouldn't apply for K-1 visas - as the K-1 is handled as a 'non-immigrant visa'.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
