Alcohol causes more damage than cigarettes, ban that. I don't get behind the wheel and kill people, beat my wife and kids or act beligerent because Im high on nicotine...just saying

I have never been a smoker, I have been a drinker though, and never done any of those ^^ things.....I recently had a some tests done and damage was found to my lungs that can only be put down to passive smoking over the years, living with parents that smoked heavily and years of working in bars....I can't recall any damage to others that my drinking may have caused, hurt feelings maybe? . Saying that, people should be allowed to smoke within their own space, I live with a smoker, but he doesn't smoke in the house at all out of respect for our things and those of us who don't wish to breathe in his habit.

I do hear your point. Of course I realize that not every drinker is a drunk :P

Im also sorry to hear that you have some damage to your lungs. I hope its nothing serious.

OT kinda-I do wonder how its so easy to pass that sort of thing off as second hand smoke ONLY, and not pollution or the like. I think ANYTIME a non smoker has damage/spots or worse in their lungs its automatically associated with second hand smoke. There is no controlled study for those figures that they constantly come out with about second hand smoke. Im not saying that second hand smoke cant cause damage.... but saying every spot of a non smoker is passive smoke is just not thorough medicine imho

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

How can you possibly be able to smell cigarette smoke through the walls of an apartment building?

Seriously. That sounds more like a ventilation/construction problem to me.

I can smell it three cars ahead of me on the road.

You can't be serious.

I am.

I'm an ex smoker, so I pick it up really easily. I'm not judging, to each his/her own, just saying I can smell it a mile away. (Not serious about a mile :P)

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Smoking...FTW!

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

The next thing you know they will ban all the foods that are bad for you because it makes people over weight which then somehow causes problems for others. I don't think anyone should be told what they can or cannot do in their home so long as it doesn't directly effect others.

Only in Apartments it is not THEIR home, it is rented... If they buy a home, they are free to smoke it up, turn the walls yellow and make whatever space they need for the oxygen tanks when they cannot breathe on their own anymore...

However, if you rent an apartment, it is not correct that they smoke up the place and when another renter comes in, they have to live with that smell, carpet burns, nicitone in the AC system and everything else. I do not think it is wrong to ban smoking in Rentals... If you own, different story!

I might agree with this crazy concept.... if you include "pets" under this principle too.

( taking a silly principle down it's logical path)

Nothing scientific here but; how is it when I was a kid, almost every parent smoked and everywhere you went people smoked in public yet I only knwe of one kid with asthma, now very few people smoke, especially around kids and every 5th kid has asthma?

There it is proof!

The less work you do with hands the "softer they become".

uh oh --- don't get me started on damn pets in rental places. No, not everyone likes your furry creature that barks like a psychotic beast from hell. Certainly NOT at 4 a.m.

I am happy to live in a no-dog complex :)

Im an animal lover and have to agree that dogs generally dont belong in apt complexes. Get a dog when you buy or rent a house
