These kids could be pre-law in a university somewhere, hangin' out on the weekend.

How's about you drop the ####### and just answer my question. What is the prevalent culture in LA, BY?

The reason I asked, BY is because I lived in LA myself. For two years... and I can tell you for nothing that its a very diverse city. So I'd be curious to know what this overall "LA Culture" you're talking about actually amounts to...

That's like a 9/11 denier saying prove to me that Bush didn't do it. Only an idiot would not realize the difference in culture from LA to NYC.

If you really think about it, that's a ridiculous thing to say. NYC and other areas of the NE have been influencing the world for a long time. It is the fighting spirit that has gotten them so far. Maybe you need to meet more people.

More like Butt of jokes.

OK, Crocodile Dundee, g'day mate! That's all Australia is right? And bloomin onions.

Try not to lose your train of thought - the question was "What is the dominant culture in LA?".

I did not state that there are no differences between people from LA and NJ/NY, nor was that implied.

I'm just asking for you to explain what that dominant LA culture is. I really don't see why you refuse to answer what is a very straightforward question - unless of course, its because you can't answer it because you don't know what you're talking about.

Prove me wrong.

Well it is what it is. Such types are not cool abroad, as in the 95% of the world that does no live here. Nothing to do with race but more to do with attitude and culture.

I would like to see how many of these types you find in Paris, Rome, Hong Kong, Berlin, Sydney, Melbourne etc.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Sounds good. Are there jobs there? (Asking seriously, not facetiously.)

There are lots in the medical field. Not a lot available in other major fields because it is filled with retirees, but all those retirees get medical care. My husband used to have to drive an hour to Tampa for his job. But he got a job a year ago only 9 miles from here, in our county, working for a state/local governmental regulatory agency(deals with water management, research, etc). It's been nice.

That's cool...

True. But some people are just judgmental! God forbid they interact with a "culture" unlike their lily white world.

Why should I? No mater what I write, you will rebut it. I have stated my opinion, so you can either agree or disagree with it.

You clearly stated there is little difference between London to NYC, so there is no point in continuing to LA vs NYC.

True. But some people are just judgmental! God forbid they interact with a "culture" unlike their lily white world.

Sorry, we just don't like losers. Time people here wake up to that.

There is porn that is not x rated?

How does that work, exactly???

Softcore - magazines showing women in various stages of undress (no sex); and movies where the sex is simulated.

oh... i hadn't realized... so softcore is like Hannah Montanna?

Well no... you haven't stated your opinion - you just made a vague hand-waving statement about dominant cultures. I'm just asking for you to substantiate it. Substantiating it would be "stating your opinion". What you've said so far - not so much.

I forgot to mention hubby is in IT, so it's nice that once in awhile the county or the place he is at now need more people in that field.

You can't tell whether someone is a loser solely on how they dress. Oh why do I bother.

Ah of course, whatever you say is correct. With that attitude, why do you even bother posting?

I am just delivering the news. Go dressed like that to any other developed country and you will be laughed at. For good reason too, as you look like an idiot.
