Hi, I'm pleased to meet all of my fellow vjers! I am so glad to find someone who can relate to what I'm going through, and to be honest this site has been more helpful to me than USCIS. Does anyone know if theywill text/email you every time they touch the case or only when they approve or disaprove it? Also the medical exam thats required for the K-3 can my husband do it now or must he wait until I get a response regarding the petition?

Currently the system at USCIS.gov will not email you whenever it your case has been touched unless their is a change in status, such as approval, request for evidence, etc. Also note that while it is possible the system has been recently approved, in the past it has been unreliable as far as status reporting is concerned.

K1: 01/15/2009 (mailed I-129F) - 06/23/2009 (visa received)

AOS: 08/08/2009 (mailed I-485, I-765, & I-131) - 10/29/2009 (received GC)

^^Agreed

There is no use in getting the medical now, they do expire (when is dependent on the country). Plus, those doctors approved by the US consulate/embassy mostly require an interview letter before the medical can take place.

PS you REALLY want to go the Cr-1 route and NOT the K-3

Good luck.

I suggest you WAIT on the medical exam, at LEAST until a Consulate CaseNumber has been issued. The Consulate CaseNumber is USUALLY required for the medical forms - but I've no idea how things work in da Bahamas.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Yeah, I kinda figured that just wishful thinking! Trust me I wish I had filed for the CR-1 especially according to the site that it would have been cheaper and the best route to go, I just found that out by exploring this site, thank you B)

It looks like your ?'s have been answered so just........Welcome to VJ :)

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!
