Immigrating after CR 1

Hello, I'm brand new to this forum. I don't have any official status in terms of the process yet.

I've found this visa journey site a tremendous wealth of information and it's very helpful. Kudos to all.

I have two questions that I hope people may be able to answer:

1. After approval of the CR 1 visa, I understand that the beneficiary has 6 months to immigrate to the USA. That said, does this mean entering the USA at a point of entry with the CR 1 approval and then being able to cross borders to make whatever arrangements to move personal affects, complete real estate transactions, secure employment etc etc, or does this mean once you cross at the border that you have 6 months in order to be fully moved ie sale of home, job, and official move?

Obviously in the immigration process there are logistical issues requiring time for resolving and settling matters. I'm not sure if the initial crossing of the border at point of entry satisfies the must immigrate in 6 months of obtaining the CR 1 or whether you have to be at the border with moving trucks etc

2. In the case of requiring a co-sponsor ( 1-864) does one application fee apply or does the petitioner (sponsor) and co-sponsor have to submit two individual filing fees. I believe the fee for this processing is $70.

I appreciate all comments on this matter and look forward to people's responses and information.

My parents are IR5 and I can't comment on the second point but I would imagine that one fee is required. You only need to activate within 6 mos. That means that you cross the border with your packet in hand and then that's it. You can take your time moving your assets over the border. Obviously the sooner you move your assets the better but USCIS is pretty understanding.
