Hello everyone. This is something interesting. I just remembered that during my SLEC, the girl who was in front of me doesn't have her MNL case number yet, (she only had a receipt number starts with WAC) however, she was still able to do her SLEC Medical, and she passed and handed a CD too!!

I guess this is something new, I will have to get in touch with a new friend who I just met in SLEC because they have the same interview date and I will inform her to ask that girl on how SLEC was able to go about processing it even without an MNL case number.

Good day! Ive done the skin test and xray but it stated that im negative or clear on my doctor. but im so devastated of the result i found out recently that my son 7 yrs old has primary koch's infection or also known as Tb on kids. although the doctor said it is not contagious because kids dont spread them. He started his medication june30,2013 and his pedia put him in 6 months oral medication of pyrazinamide for 2 months ,isoniasid and rifampacin for 6 months. We are currently waiting for our interview to be scheduled would this be a problem for us? my husband is waiting for the complete case closed and interview schedule from the NVC this August 2013. by the way we are I130 petition.

hello everyone!!

does anybody here had positive sputum smear? cos my 5 year old son had sputum exam for 3 days then on the 4th day the doctor at the pulmonary evaluation said he's positive on smear. does that mean that he has to undergo 6 months treatment?

is there special line for applicants with kid/s?

NO.

My observation while me and my 2yr-old were there: children under two years old were given priority only on the 2nd floor (its only where I read the signage). If you will be having your medical together with your child, the slec staff will write the sequence on your receipt and both of you will be examined together. SLEC staff will allow someone to accompany you and your child during the medical. Children 2-14 y/o will undergo TST. IMO, go there early on a Tuesday. Almost all children will test false positive on the TST due to the BCG vaccine. After 2 days, the TST will be read, if its positive- the child will be x-rayed twice. Your goal is to have your child xrayed before the cut-off time (before 10am) so that the results will be released by 1pm and you will be finished on a Thursday, if not you will be asked to return on Friday.

If you go on a Wednesday like us- Wednesdays- would be too risky, unless you live close to Ermita or your intervw appt is still in 1-2 weeks. Your child might be asked to return on Monday if the child's xray will not make it before the cut-off time by Friday.

Good luck smile.png

I just want to ask , since I'm thinking of getting an NBI clearance since I'm already in the Vicinity when I go for my medical... How far is it from st. lukes? How many minutes walk? Can you see the NBI building from the clinic? thanks!

Roughly 10 minutes when I walked from NBI UN to SLEC ;-) It's walkable.

Hi, i have a question. I used to have an autoimmune disorder and was paralyzed for a couple of months. I have a scar on my neck because i was put on a respirator for a month. My question is, Will that affect my the result of my exam? i am already cleared and that disorder is a once in a life time thing only. Also, would it be smart to get myself checked for TB right now just to be sure and to avoid the sputum test?? please please i really need your comments guys :) thank you so much! :D

The child's baby book would make it easier for the doctors to trace his/her vaccine history. But if you dont have it, just try to remember the vaccines s/he received, most definitely, you will be asked about it.

Since you have a minor with you, SLEC will allow at least one person to accompany you. SLEC staff will be the one to arrange the sequence of steps on your receipt,so that all three of you will be examined together. Just hide snacks and water for your two year old inside your bag.

Good luck.
