St. Luke’s Medical Exam Walkthrough

from my experience:

the guard's stamp is the "blue stamp" or St. Lukes' logo. you will have this stamp upon entering the building.

The "red stamp" with the instruction is from the U.S. receptionist at 5th floor after having the physical exam done.

The instruction will be stamped on the back of the receipt with date, time, and additional instruction

On day 2:

The clerk at the "information" area beside the entrance door will check on his computer if you are for immunization.

If for immunization, then the clerk will stamp "IMMUNIZATION AREA 2ND FLR" using a "blue stamp"

If given an immunization, then it means u won't need to undergo sputum test

If for sputum test, then the clerk at the information area will give u an instruction on what to do.

Here's something I wrote after my wife went through the exam. This isn't a walkthrough per se but some helpful advice for getting ready, hotels, etc.

I wonder if St. Lukes will still give me immunization shot since I had my medical there 5 years ago?

If you can show them your records from previous exams that may cut down on the shots just a little. My wife got a shot for the flu, chicken pox, measles/mumps, and diphtheria--four in one day. Made her a little sore and weak for a few days but not a big deal.

This all about the culture results for my Parents due today June 21 and it says in the paper to call June 27 for the results. They called a week ago(week 7) to follow up but they were told it wasn't available yet and to call back on June 20-21 results may already be in. So when my Mom called SLEC yesterday, she was told that the result is already available for her but not for my dad yet and will probably be in on the next day. Was told again to call back the following week that will be on June 27. Since my mom has been calling them almost everyday, she was given a hint by slec.. told her: " Kung malapit na sa due date na wala pang result or hindi pa kayo natatawagan namin, there's a big chance na negative a result." which I understand naman coz they cannot provide the results over the phone. My parents just wanted to know when will be the immunization coz they want that date close to their interview since they have to travel by plane and mom has to work pa eh. The guy from slec then told her, they can call on JUne 25th, and may have their shots on the 26th and interview rescheduled on the 27th. Well, I just hope the results are negative even the hints were clear.

On day 1 I take my 5AM flight to MNL then check in at my hotel then show up at SLEC by 7AMish to 9AMish. The next day or Day 2 I get the rest of the stuff done hopeffully everything else then on Day 3 wrap things up and take my return flight to Cebu late in the afternoon.

Hi. I'm from Cebu too, I checked-in at Casa Bocobo Hotel. For day1 my child and I went there on a Wednesday (July3) around 7-730am and I was finished around 11:30am. For day2, I was asked to return at 730am and my results/ CD was released by 1pm.

Based on my observations, some came in at around 8-9am and were still accommodated. Just be sure to register online for a much faster registration process.

Cool thanks Memphis...what a coincidence, I'm booked with that hotel too for my medical, I'm thinking of doing the same for the interview since they have the lowest rate.

Hi, i also want to ask if you have a note in your passport after the medical exam? Because they've put 'B' on my passport. I want to know if anyone knows what does it means. Thanks

It refers to Class B medical condition for immigration purposes, those with inactive TB (not infectious), serious/permanent disabilities, terminal diseases (not infectious), or other untreated medical conditions..

Hi, do you have idea if it would cause my denial for my visa application? Im worried now :(

Only if those diseases are transferable, and, from the description of those, it doesn't look like they are. Or if they feel you might be a public charge due to the disability, but that is extremely, extremely rare, and only is considered along with everything else in terms of evidence of support by the fiance.

Thank you for your reply. Im hoping that everything would be ok.

From what I have read, only Class A category (those w/ active TB, other infectious diseases, mental disorders etc.. that will pose a threat to self and others would be denied of a visa.

Good luck and keep us updated.
