If the guard stamped your receipt with “SPUTUM --- something” then unfortunately, you have to have a Sputum Collection and a 2-month long delay.

Is this something that can be done prior to the exam to avoid a 2-month delay? wth is sputnum?

Does anyone know about this...should I have her get this sputum collection now to avoid a delay later on?

Do you guys know of anyone who passed the chest xray eventhough with a history of PTB? We are all aware that there supposed to be a scar even tho the PTB is treated already. I have around 4 chest xrays in the past 3-4 years from different hospitals and the result is essentially normal chest findings for each. Do you think its much better to deny that I have a history of ptb? The doctor who treated me says so.

My naive 2 cents: Never lie. It could come back to bite you in the #### and the repurcussions will be extremely horrible. (Also, I find it unbelievable that any doctor would advise anything like that!)

If the only issue is another 2-3 months of additonal waiting and not a flat-out 100% sure denial, then I would go the less risky route.

Good luck with whatever you decide!

I am (usually) the beneficiary.

Hi, just wanna share!

If you have very visible bruises, lots of skin irritation, rashes, etc, it would be good to bring a medical certificate as well. I have bruises on my calves (due to playing with my dog) and the physician told me I can only get cleared if I return with a medical certificate from a hematologist. So I had to see a hematologist, undergo a few blood work, wait for the results and the medical certificate. That added 2 days of waiting before I got to go back to complete the medical exam. But it's still good and not complaining!

My first day was a breeze and was done in about 3.5 hours...but today, was the complete opposite! I got my shots after 4 hours of waiting, and got my CD and immunization record by 3PM. I almost fell asleep!

Still, this walk through was very helpful! good.gif

I assume that it goes to the embassy with the medical results? How or when does Joan get it back? Sorry, this may be a naive question, but this is all new to me!

St lukes no longer keeps the passport

Correct, one of the few changes that has been implemented since I started this thread; the other one would be a slight increase on the medical fees..

okay .. time to message one of the mods and see if I could edit my post, for some reason, it won't allow me to edit my original post

I was asked where I got the bruises, but the physician felt that the bruises were too many that she wanted me to see a specialist to get a medical certificate about my bruises. I have a scar on the arm, was asked only where I got the scar and was not required to present a medical certificate for it.
