Anyone got any experience in obtaining a Tourist Visa to the US. My Pinay friend is wanting to get a tourist visa to the US. My experience with Filipino's getting Visas is prior to 9/11 I know from others that requirements/rules for US Visa's in general (from any country) have changed since then.

I'm sure she'll have to show proof of income, but don't know if what she makes monthly is enough. She owes her own home so that might help if she has to show investments. She recently went to the US Embassy to find out the tourist visa process and talked to a company called Migration Expert that said they can help in the Visa process. I know there are scammers everywhere so I told her I can try finding out info on them to see how legit they are.

Last time I was in a US Embassy overseas I don't recall them having any private immigration/visa agents inside them like what she said there was...but the Embassy I went to was in Korea.

Just trying to find information out for her so any help is appreciated...thank you.

"Migration Expert that said they can help in the Visa process."

LOTS of "fixers" at USEM. They can't do anything unless the person can't fill out the DS forms themselves.

Your friend has to have good reasons she HAS to return to PI. Owning a home is a plus. Money in the bank is a plus also. It cost $131 US to try.

Hi!

I had a successful B2 visa interview last year. Didn't hire any "Migration Expert" or anything. Just follow the link that Dakine provided as it is the one I used.

Luckily, the CO assigned to me didn't give me a hard time as interview was a breeze. He just asked where I worked, what I do. I was trying to show the title of my property but he said no need as I am already approved, didn't even asked for my bank statements (even though I was ready to show it to him).

Your friend will save money if she will just do it herself not hire a third party.

Goodluck!
