My visa has not arrived and has not even been sent out yet...what to do??

Ron/Sharon: for reasons precisely as you stated is why I asked/insisted on knowing if stuff was indeed sent. I also requested a timeframe (in case it wasn't sent) as to when I should expect it.

domegirl: you should email Montreal, stating your case number, your intended departure date, and a request to know the actual status of your case. If they don't get back to you by end of day, email again. And again later if necessary. I was pushy because, as I told them, I complied in more than a timely manner with THEIR requests-months of them!-as such, an actual answer is not unreasonable. They got back to me soon after that...

Share mine too i posted it somewhere else on here as well cant remember where

same as above my tracking number did not exist

my packet showed up they left it on my front stairs and it was all tore open and hanging out. my sisters bf came over early morning and found it outside. luckly everything was still in it...

They never knocked never took my signature and the tracking number never worked.

I reported it to the post office and they seemed surprized that this happend but they did take action against the issue.

I paid extra for a signature requirement on a package with Canada Post once and when I went to the website to track, it said "delivered" even though I hadn't received anything. Several hours later, the pack was left in my mailbox without them having collected a signature. Ummmm...why did I pay more for a signature? I wouldn't rely on the website OR the person delivering it.

I can't believe they get away with that! And charging an arm and leg to change your address. It blows my mind! I was staying at a friends house not too long ago and I had to run to my car for something. Canada Post left a note on the door saying sorry we missed you.. We were right inside the house and they never bothered to ring the doorbell. I wonder if it is lazyness or just knowing they can get away with it.

They get away with it a lot! I know this because I stay home. They don't actually bother to knock they assume everyone is at work (now I say they - but of course some must be doing their job correctly).

Once, around Christmas time, I had a post person scare the bejeebers out of me. I was standing in a room in the back of the house and all of a sudden I see someone in the back yard coming up on to the deck :o

Apparently during the holiday season they hire contractors to deliver some packages, so this guy had no Canada Post uniform on. So he takes off back down the stairs and I rush to the front of the house to catch him to see what he is doing - he put a package on the deck. The thing is he was literally running - he was almost back at the truck across the street by the time I dashed to the front door.

I emailed the consulate today to see if my interview date had been set, and they replied within an hour that my date is November 16th! we applied late January so it has been a very long wait.

I hope your visa turns up asap! I am hoping to be in the states for thanksgiving and married by the end of November, with a proper ceremony and reception next May.

good luck everyone.
