Share mine too i posted it somewhere else on here as well cant remember where

same as above my tracking number did not exist

my packet showed up they left it on my front stairs and it was all tore open and hanging out. my sisters bf came over early morning and found it outside. luckly everything was still in it...

They never knocked never took my signature and the tracking number never worked.

I reported it to the post office and they seemed surprized that this happend but they did take action against the issue.

I think that's just a customer service ploy - it's like my cable reception - great on HD channels, not great on others. I called the cable company, he said wow, i've never heard of that!

In speaking to someone else about it they named off 3 other people they know of that have the same thing

If I remember correctly our expresspost envelope was just stuffed in the mailbox as well. A couple of weeks ago my Sister sent me something - I live in an apartment where I see the mail guy walk by every morning. I go to check the mail and there is a note to go and pick up the item at the post office - reason marked off is 'not home' - umm hellloooo I saw you walk by

Canada post is pretty bad and they really don't care.

How long on average did it take everyone to get their visa from their actual interview date?

I'm likely gonna have to re-book tonight's flight. My interview was last Monday (Sept. 28th)... should I re-book for this Thursday evening...? I would love to have any advice re: timeframes, that way I can re-book in the next 45 minutes or so.

*annoyed*

You might want to check this thread out: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...amp;hl=how+long

It seems to vary... I had mine in 5 days, including Saturday and Sunday. It seems fairly rare for the visa to take over a week, but Montreal seems pretty swamped with work, so maybe its just a natural delay.

thank you!

I'm rebooking for Wednesday night. That and I sent a few emails to the consulate, heckling/harassing them in a formally polite manner (having worked for a politician for a number of years has helped immensely re: the art of polite heckle/harassing..haha.

Thumb twiddling commences.

When I got my visa from the consulate in Montreal they never used the envelope I had supplied, and that was not good because it was "door dropped" meaning they left the package in the lobby of my building where anyone could have taken it.

I don't trust Canada Post or the US Consulate I just deal with B out of necessity.

I once had a package that my fiancé sent me last year, that they had just left sitting underneath my mailbox on the ground... thank GOD he wrapped it well in water proof packaging, cause it was REALLY crappy outside that day (November... nuff said). Not to mention someone could've just seen it and swiped it! It was just a large envelope type of thing, that they probably 'tried' fitting in the mailbox, but couldn't bend it. ugh! So glad I don't live there anymore. I was almost in tears because I knew what he had sent me was special/hand made... but it wasn't wrecked :) I was all prepared to go throw a fit at the post office though.... just in case

I can't believe they get away with that! And charging an arm and leg to change your address. It blows my mind! I was staying at a friends house not too long ago and I had to run to my car for something. Canada Post left a note on the door saying sorry we missed you.. We were right inside the house and they never bothered to ring the doorbell. I wonder if it is lazyness or just knowing they can get away with it.

domegirl-this might be a small slice of good news for you (and hopefully me, for the love of god). As I'd said, I'd written the embassy-I got a reply at 9:30 last night-short, but potentially sweet:

The visa was issued and mailed, you should be receiving it soon.

OP5

I'm thinking they sent a whack of them last week yesterday.... I'm crossing my fingers for both/all of us.

YAY! Well I hope they did actually send the visa out. I have some things to get done these next few weeks and worrying about the visa arriving shouldn't be one of them. :)

I hope yours is in the bundle that laft Montreal and it's in your hands in a day or so.

Don't do anything until you have the package and have checked it out, I didn't and my job is finished soon, my apartment is promised to a future tenant who is and my package had to be returned to Montreal. I have only a few weeks before I'm on the street without a job and all OP5 can say is your in the cue and will sent everything once a review is done. Not at all very incouraging.
