So, my NVC case starts with GUZ. What does it mean? According to http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/nv...etitions2.html:

If your case is not being processed electronically, your case number should begin with GUZ.

I understand that I am applying for a K-1 visa, not a K-3, and only some K-1 are processed electronically, but I just want to compare notes. So, what is your NVC number starts with? Thanks!

Wait so we're getting new case numbers once it leaves VSC? Are we going to get new ones for every leg of the process?

Also my understanding. A case number that starts with GUZ is not being processed electronically.

My new case number assigned by the NVC does start with GUZ.

When I called NVC, I was told my case was being sent to Guangzhou both electronically and by DHL. While the "case" was also sent electronically, the forms/documents are being submitted to the consulate in hard copy.

I had previously read on this site that while the case may be transmitted to the consulate electronically, no action will probably be taken until the hard copy file is received and opened. I am not sure that is true now since I have found that my case was "sent" to Guangzhou on November 16th and the "Packet 3 Instructions" were "mailed" to my fiancee on November 18th. My fiancee has already returned the "P3" (hard copy) to Guz. Mailed on Sunday and delivered on Monday. Pretty good EMS in that part of China.

Hi Bacon,

Yes once the case left VSC you will be assigned a new case number, for me it starts with GUZ, which is short for the Guangzhou consulate. However, your USCIS case number, which for me starts with EAC, still works and it was the only number I used when I called NVC to get my case status and receive the new NVC numbers.

Hi George,

Glad that you are making progress and I finally jointed the "Post NOV2" club. I wonder if you have taken Darnell's "P3 shortcut" (http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/GUZ_P3_Shortcut). If you did, what was your experience?

I guess you are calling DoS daily, if not more now, and trying to get your interview date huh? Oh before I forget, I am leaving for HK this weekend to see her, and will stay in Guangzhou for two days. We plan to stay @ the apartment I mentioned on the other thread. I will keep you updated, hope you do the same!

Hey Jr, glad to see you're making progress. We were planning to make the Darnell "shortcut" but GUZ mailed the P3 with amazing speed. There was only a 9 day gap (shortcut timeframe) between the day GUZ mailed the P3 and the day my fiancee received the P3. We would have been able to jump through that "window of opportunity" however we had a little problem with my fiancee's passport. It was isssued with an incorrect place of birth. It took almost a month to get that fixed so we missed the "shortcut window". Happily it has been fixed and the P3 documents were mailed back to GUZ. GUZ received the P3 back on November 30th, according to EMS.

All the "appointment" documents (P4) are prepared and ready to travel. I guess I have been calling DOS every day. I keep telling myself, "tomorrow I will not call" but when tomorrow comes, some other part of me picks up the phone and dials. "Good things come to those who wait" does not seem to get in the way of "I want to know, now, when the interview will be". haha

Good luck on your trip to Guangzhou. I am anxious to hear any comments you may have concerning Mr. Yang and his apartments.

Greetings from the other side of the world!

I am with Helen since Sunday night in Hong Kong, after my 24-hour trip from Washington. DHL confirms that my paperwork has been delivered to Guangzhou today around 10:46AM. While we are together for the time, we realized that there is still a long way to go and we wish all those still in the process best of luck, as a matter of time, all of us, best of luck!

OK Octoberians, I've been sitting back watching everyone's progress, I think it's high time the rest of us start getting some NOA2 action in the next 7-10 days; before the holidays slow things down again. I can feel it, dream it too.

I hope I'm really really wrong, and sorry to CSC filers, but I am starting to think that CSC sent Vermont a bunch of their files to catch things up. Looking at Igor's list, VSC suddenly came to a standstill and CSC skyrocketed this week. Any thoughts?

Thoughts? Yes I think USCIS blows....In 2002 a I-129F petition took 8 weeks from start to finish with visa in hand. And I only paid a $110.00

application fee. Now I am doing a second I-129F 7 years later and these clowns are taking forever to do what could be done in several weeks...and now

$455.00 ...................a 400% increase in cost and 4 times longer wait times...............

Hey sanish, Congratulations!

You can get your new case number from NVC. It will take about a week for NVC to receive your case from VSC. Then another 4 or 5 days before NVC trnasmits your case to the appropriate Embassy. The telephone number for NVC is: 603-334-0700.

Best of Luck

Hope everyone's holidays have been filled with peace and joy. We may not have gotten everything we wanted for Christmas but maybe instead we got something we needed more. At this point I'm sure most of us would like to have a little more patience. Hope everyone's New Year is filled with joy, happiness and a visa.

Wooh! :dancing: Jaaah! SHA-mooonA! HEE- hee!

Just had our I-129f approved today!

I was particularly concerned, as my handwriting sucks (seriously, i'm sure they corrected more than a few words on my application- they misread my girl's name as Yuh, instead of Yun.... on our NOA1), i sent in a second G-325a, amending an error on our first one for my girl, plus having it signed, as the first one was'nt. Honestly, i was expecting at LEAST to fall out of the VJ's NOA2 prediction date, if not end up waiting on it till February-March, but today, the very LAST day for the VJ's NOA2 prediction, we GOT APPROVED!!

I am shocked!
