I am happy to report that VSC is still putting out the NOA2s. Today I had just started on the first hole of the golf course when my phone indicated I received a text message from USCIS. The text message only said that my case was updated. Well, I certainly wanted to leave the golf course to get home to see what USCIS had done but I was stuck there and it was very hard to concentrate on golf. The first thing I did when I got home was to check my email and there it was from USCIS telling me that my Petition was approved.:thumbs::dance:

I truly believe VisaJourney helped me prepare the petition well and I can not thank the contributors enough. Thanks to this site I am already prepared for the next step and the one after that. Now it is time for me to research what we need to do after my love, Xiyun, arrives in the USA.

Hey - that thing leave NVC yet? I'm thinking it went 'that-a-way' by now.

SOME K-1 petitions that are bound for GUZ are sent over from GUZ SOLELY via SAFEFILE, so if that's the case for you, you will see some speed at GUZ.

I suggest you call NVC, ask for status on yer case, and if it's already left - inquire how:

1. SAFEFILE ONLY or

2. DHL and SAFEFILE or

3. DHL only.

Then if it's left NVC, give DOS a call, ask for status:

1. current status, with the date/time stamp and

2. prior 3 status things, with the date/time stamps.

Want to shave off 3 weeks on the P3 ? see http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/GUZ_P3_Shortcut - if she's already prepped the docs, then she can send em in via EMS (don't forget to include another EMS label, with her address in chinese as 'recipient', inside the P3 to have the P4 sent out ).

After she's sent in the P3, you can start calling DOS again, they'll know the interview date before she receives the P4.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

-=-=-=-=-=R E A D ! ! !=-=-=-=-=-

Whoa Nelly ! Want NVC Info? see http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process

Congratulations on your approval ! We All Applaud your accomplishment with Most Wonderful Kissies !

Darnell, Thanks for the tips. They are very much appreciated. Called NVC as you suggested and was able to find out the date they received my case and the date they sent it to GUZ. They told me they sent it yesterday, November 16th, both electronically and by DHL. I guess I'll wait a few days before attempting to call DOS and see if there is any status.

Thanks for the update George, I never thought of they will send it both electronically and DHL, which means, GUZ is going to have to wait for the physical file before they can send you P4 right? I understand you can do a P3 ahead of time. Anyway, please let us know any updates!

OK all Octoberians,

I am just writing to see how's everybody doing?

I think the stimulus we have seen for the past few weeks is finally wearing off, and yes, it was nothing more than what its name suggested, a stimulus--apparently UCCIS pulled the support back much quickly, and left most of our Octoberians hanging dry.

Since filing I-129F, I found myself kept a very close eye to my Blackberry, and my heart rate jump when there is a red LED indicator for a new text message, or even any new email. Too bad that my Blackberry receives both text messages and emails at about the same time, so I had great expectations, but that very quickly turned into disappointment, time after time, just like a roller-coaster ride.

I used to check USCIS.gov site more than three times a day, when I found out there was no changes to my case, I usually inquire the cases before and after mine, by subtracting or adding 1s to my case number. No any more, I don't even check any more. I mean, I have a life to go on and quite frankly, I would be freaked out if I got my NOA2 today -- Happy? Yes! Excitement? Yes! Don't know what to do next? You bet ya!

But then again I have this false hope that, somehow USCIS did not update my case online when they approved my petition, decided not to send me a text message or email because their IT guy screwed up something, and I very unexpectedly found a letter from USCIS in my mailbox... Yadayada, and when I use my shaking hands to open up that letter because I don't know if it is a RFE or approval... Yadayada... Unfortunately, most of the mails are junk...

Anyway, I felt much better after I let these out of my mind, I hope you guys do the same and don't keep all of this to yourself, we are here to support each other, and learn from each other. And, I consider myself lucky, because I made myself financially possible to spend 6 weeks with my love very soon. And then I plan to spend our first Valentine's day, which will coincide with the Chinese New Year, together in China. By then we should have some idea what is USCIS doing to my NOA2.

OK USCIS, do you know what are you doing to me? You happy now? You see??? :crying:

Thanks for this JRSmooth! My fiance and I are going through the exact same feelings. I think a few weeks ago everyone thought we would receive our NOA2 within a month, but unfortunately it isnt so. Like you my fiance and I will be meeting in next month and spend a few weeks together. I just want to fast forward into the future when we will be together.

Well here is wishing everyone good luck through this whole process!!

Since I seem to be the only one with any good news I'll share my latest development. My fiance received a letter from the US embassy in Japan today going over the next set of forms she has to send in. I was only able to talk to her for 15 minutes this morning so I wasn't able to get all the details. It looks like she has to send in another form similar to the G-325a as well as get a health check and get all the immunizations required to live in the US. She was a little surprised that the health check will require her to get completely naked for it (it said so right in the instructions) but if that is what it takes, that is what it takes. As far as showing my financial support I don't know if she needs that right now but the letter did include a section about the sponsor being above the poverty line. I don't know if she needs to send in that proof right now or at the time of the interview. It didn't include anything about an interview date, but I assume that will happen after they confirm she has the health check and immunizations.

Good luck to the rest of the October people, hope you all can join me soon.

You got me there, I have no idea why I was lucky enough to get mine approved so fast. Might just have been I applied at the right time and got in at the tail end of a massive rush to approve a bunch of applications. I sent my package in just as recommended in the guide on this website so I don't think it was anything special about that. I did study abroad while in college in Japan, so maybe that made my application seem more 'legit' and they didn't expend as much energy making sure it was an honest application. But that is just me guessing, I have no idea about the inner workings of the VSC.

My biggest worry right now is that I've set a tentative date for the wedding and have been trying to plan it all. I set it so that when everything is done it would give us two months of elbow room. But if it takes too long than my two month window will be gone. :P Especially since my boyfriend is a bit of a slacker when it comes to the forms.

The funny thing here is that out of everybody applying in this thread I am probably the least concerned with it happening as soon as possible. She is currently in graduate school so the earliest she can come over here is May. Some people over the summer recommended I apply in July, but now I am glad I waited, I am not sure how willing the embassy would be in delaying getting the visa issued if I needed it to happen.

But I will gladly be a guinea pig for the rest of the group. Hopefully the test results come out good! :D

Don't know why yours moved forward, mine had move from 11/16 to 11/25, the earliest. But again, this time line is not the official time line of USCIS, they are merely based on the time line reported by VJ members, so if a few members report their timelines incorrectly, intentional or not (like those reporting filling in future dates), the acuracy of this time line fell apart from the reality, which is not much to begin with.

"Based on time line data, your I129f may be adjudicated between November 25, 2009 and December 16, 2009*."

When I file my petition earlier October, based on the reports here at VJ, I thought and nerversly expecting my petition would be approved in about a month, but 43 days and counting, good thing is I am not desperate yet.

I hope everyone to have a safe, joyful holiday and that USCIS, CSC and VSC get their acts together and put more stimulus into action!
