and the uscis definitely lost ours paper so now we will have to apply again.....can u believe this after almost 7 month waiting now we will have to start over again.....this is a SHI# (forgive my French), and what about our money will we have to pay the visa? this is the hell. SHI# SHI# SHI##

  • Jan/26/2010 - NOA2 (96 days to got it, since we received NOA1)
  • Mar/09/2010 - NOA2 (AGAIN CUZ THEY DIDN'T SEND IT TO NVC UNTILL WE CONTACT OUR CONGRESSMAN)
  • May/04/2010 - NOA2 (AGAIN FOR 3 TIMES CUZ THEY FORGOT SEND IT TO NVC UNTIL WE CONTACT OUR CONGRESSMAN AGAIN)
  • May/10/2010 - NVC Received (Finally USCIS really sent it...wooo they didn't forget this time)[/color]

Just plain AWFUL. Make sure you write URGENT -- EXPEDITE DUE TO USCIS ERROR on top of your cover letter when you re-file.

I cannot believe you would have to start over from the beginning and pay again.

Your timeline says check cashed; so certainly you have record of that. And your hard copy NOA1.

Contact your congressman again and explain to the immigration liason what has happened. Go to her/his office with all of your copies of everything you submitted. Maybe there is something that can be done.

Even if they lost your papers after your NOA2, Vermont would have an electronic record of processing your file.

Best of luck - hopefully you are together as you go through this torment!

Our interview is tomorrow!!!! This time tomorrow we would have found out for sure whether Ham gets to come here. :D I'm so excited. I'll probably be too wired to do anything tomorrow night waiting for Ham to call. :P

Well.....we kind of got it. When I originally submitted the application I only included stuff from this past year since that's when we started dating again. Well, Ham told them about how we originally dated in 2003. So now they want evidence from then as well. But as far as I can tell then we just have to mail in a few pictures and emails and we should be good.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I said too there, Doghandler. It's ridiculous. But apparently the guy there turned away two other people who came up saying they didn't have enough evidence as well. So think he was just having a bad day and taking it out on everyone else.

Oh, my freaking goodness!!!! We got the visa. The pictures and the email that I sent in last night were enough proof for them to approve the visa. I can't believe that four pictures and one email where I asked Ham for his mailing address was enough proof for them to give us the visa when I sent massive amounts of pics, emails, IM's and phone logs with the original packet.

I don't care though at this point. We got the visa and I'm happy. I absolutely love how the Sydney consulate will accept data through email instead of everything being through post.

Though.....I am still slightly nervous that they have our case confused with someone else. Both me and Ham aren't resting easy until he has his visa in hand.

Hey Bacon, that's great news! Yes it is great that they let you use email. Since he mentioned 2003, they probably just wanted to be sure he was telling the truth. Some of our stories are so bizarre, there is no way we could be making them up!

So I'm sure sister wedding planner is already making lists. When's the big day???

Ham'll be here in about a month. Over there they have to give four weeks notice before they can leave their job so he put in his notice today and then after four weeks and a few extra days he'll be here. :)

The wedding is set for July 10th and my sis is actually going crazy. She had to move in between the time we were waiting and so the movers packed up all the wedding stuff. Well....they're having an issue finding a house so until they find them all the stuff for the wedding is in storage. If they don't get a house soon we'll have to start from scratch on the decorations. :P
