I wonder though if that is taking into account the time that the beneficiary gets all the data together. I would think it wouldn't. It probably only counts the embassy's processing time. Not counting any time in between sending P3 and receiving it back from the beneficiary.

I think it's based on the data people input into the timeline, in which case it does include people getting stuff together, right? So, if it's an average and someone takes 2 weeks to rustle up their birth certificate and other forms and someone else has it waiting on their bedside table to send off the day their P3 arrives, it will average the time of those two experiences. So if you have everything you need, ready to go, theoretically (because, goodness knows, there ain't no guarantees in this crazy process) your wait time would be a bit shorter. I think there are some embassies where you can call and ask for an earlier appointment, or set your interview up before you even get the packet (if it's all online or whatever). I think it all depends on what consulate you're dealing with, and your preparedness. I think...

Haha! I so know that feeling! I think there are things, like the police certificate, that he can't do without a form from the P3. I had mine ring the police and they said they can't give out his report without a clearance from the consulate. But maybe it's different in Aussie. I'd just look at the Sydney consulate website and maybe try posting in the Aussie regional forum, too.

I know in canada you can get a policy certificate whenever you want I have already asked, and they said just give us 10 business days to get it for you and it cost $10. I have my D230 form completed and my DS 156, I can't do the DS 156K or the DS160 (montreal consulate is using this form now) as I have to wait for the NVC. The DS 160 has to be submitted via the website. I have my BC, my divorce decrees and a copy of my passport already. I am going thru the Montreal Consulate and they are SLOW!!! so i am planning on havin my packet 3 in and out the same day. Little Mermaid sent me a copy of her Packet 3 via Personal Email in December as she went thru the Montreal Consulate. aswell.

Aug 23 2010 - mailed via USPS overnight courier to USCIS

Aug 24 2010 - received a USCIS at 11.40am signed for by Chyba

Sept 1 2010 - received email and text confirmation for AOS,EAD,AP

Sept 7 2010 - received hard copy of NOA1 for AOS,EAD,AP

Sept 10 2010 - received biometrics apt letter for Oct 1, attempting walkin Sept 17

Sept 17 2010 - successful walk-in biometrics apt

I hate to tell you this, but I told you so.... ha ha!

This is one "I told you so" that I don't mind hearing. :) I really didn't think I'd get it at all. But I saw that there was one other person who had their NOA2 from the 22nd too. So it looks like they're finally around that section at least. It's slow going but at least it's going.

This is one "I told you so" that I don't mind hearing. :) I really didn't think I'd get it at all. But I saw that there was one other person who had their NOA2 from the 22nd too. So it looks like they're finally around that section at least. It's slow going but at least it's going.

So how did you find out? Was it an email or the website?
