Dear Mrsemcee,

I understand how hard it is. I died inside when I had to return to America without my Loke. He is my life and soul and I felt like I left my entire being with him. He was my sould mate, my new husband, my future and my life and I didn't think anyone could understand the love that I felt for this man who was over 8,000 miles away. I am from Colorado and I had never seen the ocean since I went to Australia and it was so amazing and beautiful and breathtaking that I couldn't handle leaving.

I found that when I returned to America I was lifeless. I couldn't eat, I could't sleep, I couldn't smile and I couldn't even cry. I was so sad and so lost without him. I took one of his shirts with me when I left and I could smell him. I longed for him with all the power inside of me and we would talk on web cam and I would hold that shirt religiously.

I went to work one day and my mom thought it would be nice to come and do my laundry to help me out because she is a nutcase. She washed the shirt :(

I bawled my eyes out. I know she didn't mean to wash it. I know she meant only to help me. I lost his smell :( omg it was like someone had just burned my house down I was so devistated. Loke saw how messed up I was from it so he slept in a shirt for a couple of days, wrapped it in plastic and mailed it to me. People don't know how something so small can carry you through such a heartwrenching time.

I guess what I am saying is that I understand and tell him to mail you a shirt. Trust me... his smell will somehow comfort you whenever you feel lost and alone.

Love my Aussies *hugs*

LOL well tell him to mail you a shirt. I am serious just having his smell around you really will help so much. I saved me from just giving up and flying back there and staying illegally just to be with him lol

We did that, I spray a silk scarf with his cologne, when Im not cuddling with it, I keep in a baggie to preserve the smell.

He has a "item" of mine sprayed with my cologne , , I was a bit sneaky when I last left him, I sprayed his whole sock/underwear draw with Chanel #5, he says the whole draw still lings of my cologne.

Truly happy!!!

It's amazing how comforting it is to smell them when you miss them so much. It automatically soothed me and relaxed me.

It truly is!!!! Ive even went out and bought his cologne to have with me here in the US. Ive sprayed my Teddy bear, "yes I have a Teddy bear," Mo gave it to me, anyways, I hold it tight to me and I felt better just holding that bear and smelling his scent.

Truly happy!!!

Well, with my allergies kickin here, I dont think I could smell a wet dog in the middle of August... But it is a nice thought (not the dog, but havin stuff smell like him)...

But I am feeling much relieved tonight, Got a call from my hubby and they finally came an got him off that godforsakin ship in the middle of the English Cnannel... He is resting comfortably in Rotterdam tonight and flying back to Denmark tomorrow, so I will be able to FINALLY skype with him! It has been sooo hard only talking to him 15 minutes in the past 2 weeks!!! In 6 years of marriage this is the longest we have gone without at least talking to each other!!!!

I would feel better if they'd give me an interview then I would have some news to share... But we'll have to wait on that one still!!!

That's great news Christeen!

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!

I have to admit that I was crying yesterday. I miss my husband so much. We see each other 2 times a day on the cam but it's just not the same as being able to reach out and touch him. He doesn't really know about AP and I don't want to discuss it with him and see him start to worry about that. I'd rather wait until after NVC then say look Baby, we've waited all this time and been through so much now guess what? I want to tell you about AP and how we might have to wait up to another year to get our Visa.

I feel guilty about not telling him but at the same time I want him to have some hope that we will be together soon. I am so afraid inside of this process. What will we do if our Visa is denied? So I just try and not think like that but it's hard. When I get afraid I feel like I'm letting him down by not being strong. My friends didn't want me to marry him in the first place because he is Pakistani and they felt he just wanted me to get into the Country. They wanted me with an American so I can't discuss my problems with them and I feel so alone in my fear. Most of my so-called friends have stopped calling me sense I got married anyway and that hurts. My family was very upset when I first told them I was getting married but now they are happy for me but really are busy with their own lives and I don't see them.

I am very glad that I can vent here and that I am really not as alone as I feel.
