Hello I just recently returned to the US after staying 6 months in Egypt with my husband. We just filed the petition DCF and now we are trying to get all things together for the packet 3 for my husband to return to the Embassy. Im getting all the I-864 forms and tax returns together. I was wondering if anyone knew the quickest, safest, cheapest way for me to send all these papers to my husband in Egypt from the US. Thanks so much

Google that question. I think FedX might go to Africa/Egypt.

Hi Jeni, whenever I want to make sure my husband gets something, I send it DHL or Fed Ex. I have sent things through U.S. mail and more often then not he never gets it. Sending through DHL or Fed Ex is not always cheap, but the sense of security knowing he'll get the item I sent is worth every penny, imo. Anyhow, good luck!

FedEx was the only company that could give me shipping updates on the package and delivery confirmation, so that's the route we took. Cost a lot (about $90). There were less expensive options if we'd not needed confirmation and tracking, or if we'd lived in a different part of Giza.

UPS was cheaper for us than FedEx...they track and update just as well as FedEx in my experience. However, there is a fee when the package arrives to your husband as well. There was no fee w/ DHL when they delivered.

We have used USPS in the past and you can now pay for tracking so its cheaper than any of the ones mentioned above. I have not had any issues using USPS w/ tracking option and insurance on our shipments since we started using them. However, another note...we only ship to Cairo...never outside the city. I think there is issues when sending to smaller cities...(that just an observation from seeing prior posts).

Best of luck!

I think they have to be the originals, therefore scanning and emailing wouldn't do.

Thanks so much everyone for your help. Im sending the I-864 forms so I do believe they have to be the originals also. Thanks

Last time I sent papers to Egypt, I used Priority Mail USPS and they got there in less than a week. I paid like $13. Trouble is, you can't track it though. Make sure and have copies.

Do not send via regular mail! It might make it... and it might not! Check with your husband to see what office is easiest for him to access. We have DHL, FedEx, and SkyNet here. I would recommend looking into sending it directly to the office and having your husband pick it up from there rather than having them deliver to the door. That way you can ensure your husband gets it quicker. It cost me 50 dollars to send the I-129F petition from Egypt to the US... but I have a feeling it might be cheaper the other way around, insha'allah.

GOOD LUCK! :)
