Hello Everyone,

I really need some help clarify myself. My father is sponsoring for my grand parents but his income is not sufficient so the embassy has requested a joint sponsor for the intending immigrants(my grand parents). I want to be the joint sponsor for my grand parents but I do not meet the income requirement either. So my question is, can I add my sister's income with my I-864 (Joint sponsor) to meet the requirements? and have my sister fill out an I-864A. My father does not know anybody else (friends or relatives) who might be willing to sponsor instead of me since I don't meet the income requirements.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

If you and your sister live in the same household your incomes can be combined.

Your father can use anyone (family or friend) to co-sponsor your grand-parents; providing both meet the poverty guidline.

Thank you Jamaican and Anh for your prompt reply but I don't know if I clearly stated my problem in my previous post.

I don't meet the poverty guidelines even including my wife's income. So I want to add my sisteer and her husband's income to meet the poverty guidelines. Neither me nor my sister as an individual meet the poverty guidelines so I want see if I can combine my wife, my sister and her husband's income to my I-864 sponsor. All of these live the same household. I understand that they all will have to fill out separate i-864A but my big question is can I use three person on one I-864 to meet the poverty guidline?

Thank you again for helping me out.
