I spent my AOS years on another forum - Immigration Portal that was the first to come up when I googled. I was a senior member with hundreds of posts. Gosh, it was full of pple bashing others, ridiculing, quarreling etc. Some moderators behaved like they were superhuman, like you had to either agree with them, or they will ban you, warn you and all kinds of things. There were days when threads were started in complaint of moderators. You know the way some pple don't speak/write good English, there is this moderator who asked pple why they write like that, ofcourse it's an immigration forum, not a spelling/speaking Bee.

One day I told one moderator to be just a little nicer, he sent me a warning. The next day there was a thread about him, pple pushing that he's too nasty, that he should be banned from the site. Days later, someone came to seek advise on whether to divorce his cheating wife and report her to USCIS, or divorce her and move on. Being the me that I am, I said.. divorce her and move on. The moderator wanted her reported to USCIS. The debate went on and this moderator kind of wanted everyone to agree with him. I told him that wasn't possible, that pple are entitled to their opinions. Guess what? He banned me from the site. I could have signed up again - I have more than one computer, but I just didn't want to be apart of that group. Now, there were a few good pple, but I guess the general tone of that forum was that of disrespect.

Now am here, I've looked through the posts on this forum (I should have done so in my previous one b4 I signed up). People here are very respectful, kind, full of advise, and disagree in a very civilized way. This feels like me. I will ride my 751 and N400 days here. I will update my info., slowly but surely

if you feel the need to be disrespectful, come over to the Off Topic forum

"We", get crazy over there. the mods will be semi ok with it, as long as you leave that type behavior in the o.t. forum :innocent:

I know that board! I got banned after about 2 days because I 'spammed' the site by linking to USCIS' site (and either this or **removed due to TOS** forums).
