Magicjack is EXPENSIVE, International Calling rates to HCM is .33 a minute. For USA and Canada is is GREAT

No, you misunderstood what I was trying to advise...get a magicjack for your SO in Vietnam, not get a magicjack for your own use in the states...the magicjack connects via the internet so it's free (after annual fee of $20) to call the magicjack number in VN and the magicjack number to call a US number...

The only downfall is it has to be hooked up to a computer (and turned on) to be able to use...If you keep internet on 24/7 like here in the US, you're fine...but in VN it's probably too hot to keep it on 24/7...you'd probably fry/overheat your machine in no time!

With Skype or Magicjack can you get a detail or your phone records???? Date time phone numbers to and from???? This would be very important for "PROOF"?

I don't think so w/ magicjack...but what I do is I print out my cell phone bill because that does identify incoming/outgoing calls to that number...so there's my fix around that problem...

I gave a MagicJack to Phuong. I only hooked it up briefly here in the US to register a phone number in my area code (not that it matters - calls to any number in the US and Canada are free). I've used it several times while I was in Vietnam. I remember that it kept a limited "call history", but I don't remember how many numbers it keeps (Phuong refuses to use the phone directory, and always dials from the call history page ). I don't think it provided an easy way to print the log, but you could screen cap the log periodically and save it, if you wanted.

I set it up for my grandma in Vietnam--it's only $20.00USD. The Skype VOIP is an adapter...I dont know about monthly fees for them.
