Went to the office this morning at 10 a.m., our appointment letter for Aug 2 in hand., Asked politely if they could squeeze us in and was told

by a friendly clerk "Of course". Took a total of 20 minutes and we are done with Biometrics. Yoohoo.

Congrats and you are so lucky. If my biometrics location was closer I'd think about trying that when my date comes, but alas I find it hard to drive 2 hours for something that's not a sure thing.

Whatever you do make sure to ask to speak with an Immigration Officer because you haven't heard from them in over ... days and are concerned you may have missed some letter. Usually if you do this the Agent will ask you to confirm you want your call to be transfered and then you just confirm and get the IO. Ask any questions you may have to the IO they usually are quite helpful (unlike the Agents who don't know anything about your case and are just there to filter calls).

Instructions: If more than 30 days have elapsed since your NOA1 date and you have not received your biometrics letter, you can call the NCSC and put in service request to the center which you filed to find out that status of the letter. Make sure to verify the home address and mailing address (if any) with them on the phone. You can also request to speak to an immigration officer to get your CR I-89 receipt number, (it is the receipt number of the biometrics letter) so that you can track your case online. [/font]

What is the number for the NCSC? Would it be the number for the VSC I see on the NOA1 I received? (800) 375-5283?

Also does anyone know their hours? My husband and I both work and I figured we needed to coordinate together for the necessary information for this call... I heard that people mentioned they needed the green card info too? Anything else I need to know?

Question for those posters who notice "touches" on the USCIS website. Site has a new look compared to what is was two years ago. Displays various status buttons, the "initial review"

button is highlighted for me. Where is the notification that shows file was touched? Or is that a different page?

Hi Youtoo,

Yes, the buttons will remain the same, but in the portfolio page, there is a column (Last Updated mm/dd/yyyy) is where I was seeing touches.

When you click on the case, and see the buttons, below it there is some text that shows probably we received on xx/xx/xxxx your application etc..... that will update when the stage changes.

No need to worry. They ask you straightforward questions and it's everything you already mailed in. You need your GC for the "A" number, as a matter of fact you really will repeat everything as it was on your mailed in form, addresses, phone number, e-mail address, when mailed, where mailed, to what office etc. The petitioner should call her/himself. And they are open 8 a.m. to midnight Eastern time. No instant answers from them just a mentioning that within the next 30 days you will be notified of something. That's as much as I remember, hope it helps.

Ah, the old "my portfolio" page, I thought it had disappeared. Looks more familiar and I saw there was a "touch" today, probably because of the Biometrics event yesterday. Thank you for
