May 2010 I-751 filers

We called USCIS yesterday about our bio appointment not being scheduled. The lady we talked with was very nice, but she said all she could do was put in a request and we would have to wait 45 days. I tried several times to get our actual case number but she was unwilling to get it or to transfer us to someone who might have it. We sent in our package at the very start of our filing window, but it looks like being a week or two late would have actually been better. Very frustrating.

My understanding is that if you ask to speak to an immigration officer at least twice during the phone call, the NSCS representative is supposed to transfer you to them. Once you get the immigration officer on the line, you will need to reverify your information, and then you can ask for your CR I-91 receipt number, to track your case online. The NSCS representative won't have that receipt number in their system until the biometrics letter is sent and their system updated.

The last touch we got on our CR I-89 was on 05/21/2010 - the NOA is dated from mid May so I really think we are May filers. The phone support Agent and IO both confirmed it was not normal that we still don't have a date scheduled for the Bio so something is really the matter if people who sent their packet in June are getting Bios and we're not... I just wish they would at least keep us posted on what is their next step. If the system is back working they should have an estimate of when we'll be getting our Bios. It's so stressful we were planing on traveling like so many others and with this mess we won't be doing it because if we get the letter in the meantime we might miss the apt altogether! Sigh...

Looking at the pattern of how June filers are getting their biometrics appointments, it looks like USCIS is working in reverse order - so if that is the case, perhaps in a couple of weeks we will start receiving our appointment letters, starting from the later filers.

Not sure actually, good question. I just assumed yes but I would be curious to hear about someone who got their Bio on this matter...

Well actually I tend to think the Govt owes us explanations on pretty much everything because they are working for us taxpayers - plus our citizen spouses happen to be the ones who 'hire' them. In our case the USCIS is 90% financed by petition moneys and therefore they are actually working directly for us since we did pay our fees. I know this is wishful thinking of course and I realize they probably want to solve this as much as we do however I hope that if this is not solved within say the next month they will at least provide us with some kind of timeframe. Just my two cents...

Does anyone know if your CR I-89 case gets touched when a biometrics appointment is issued?

Mine did not. It got touched on the day of the appointment and the day after.

Does anyone know if your CR I-89 case gets touched when a biometrics appointment is issued?

Many people do get a touch after biometrics, but many people don't and never do until the approval/card production messages.

Their online system is not up to date technologically - and I think president Obama was talking a while back about improving the immigration system... not sure if it will also improve their online system as well. It seems to be a manual process rather than an automatic process (for example, when a file is assigned a bar code (?) and gets scanned, the system updates as well as the online status).

I think they keep it ambiguous to avoid many complaining customers...

After NOA i received in the end of MAY'2010 , I did not receive anything. I called the USCIS today , she told me that the finger prints appointment is not schduled yet!..any advise please.

I am so sorry for you guys that have not received their biometrics letters yet :wow: i hope you will receive it very soon and we will all get approved even faster B-)

my case has been touched one day after my biometrics on 17 june and that is it so far, no news yet.
