Hi everyone, I'm new on the board but i just wanted to know if someone can add me on the list. i submitted my application on 5/18 received NOA1 on 5/27 dated 5/21. Like most of you who filed 2nd half of the month, I'm yet to receive my biometrics letter

Patiently waiting... I reread the NOA1 a number of times, and it doesn't specify a timeframe that the biometrics letter will be issued within. I am thinking about calling the information hotline tomorrow though, just to see what they say.

what options do you dial to get a live person. Last time i tried i feel like i was going thru an endless loop!

We called USCIS today, and I have to say the customer service representative we spoke with was very friendly, polite and professional. In fact, it was only about a 2 minute hold before she answered the line, so we were pleasantly surprised with that as well.

She confirmed all of our information, including:

1. The application type (I-751)

2. NOA1 Receipt number, Receipt Date, Service Center (I-797C, Notice of Action)

3. Applicant Full Name, Birth Date, Alien Number, Mailing Address

There were a number of other yes/no questions that she asked that I can't remember off hand.

We stated to her that we have not received the biometrics appointment letter.

She said that since it has been over 30 days since the NOA1 reciept date, she would be able to place a service request to VSC on our behalf to request a duplicate biometrics appointment letter be issued.

She reconfirmed all our above information, and put in the service request, and gave us the referral number for the service request.

She then stated that VSC would respond to us within 45 days, and that if 45 days elapse without us receving any notice, then we should call back with this information.

I would have to say this is the most pleasant government call I have ever made...

I also did call USCIS 15 days ago asking them what is going on with my Bio letter and well they were really nice, polite and professional. My case had already 30 days received when I called them so, they placed a service requested to CSC for us. However, 15 days later I'm still waiting. So, not happy at all.

Customer service has improved, though. Now, i just want to get the Bio letter and to move on with this process.

We'll see what's going to bring us this week to all of us waiting for that letter.

I think all of us still waiting, are all waiting over 30 days since NOA1. It's not an accident, that no appointment letters go out. But although no accident, there never is any rhyme or reason at USCIS and all that is left to to us is pure speculation. This whole ordeal reminds me so vividly of the original visa application. It's deja vu all over again. But all will end well; eventually.

:o Just for fun, I checked our case status and there was a touch on 6/26!

It still says initial review, but I am just so surprised that there'd even be a touch so soon.

Some VSC filers (including already approved mine) posted same (touched on 6/26, Sat). Maybe VSC is doing some building cleaning ;) ?

Update: Just had my biometrics today... my letter was dated sent June 17 but since we're out of town I got it in the mail on June 23 ... :thumbs: I got lucky to be back on time before the biometrics date! :dance:

Quick question : The case number needed to check status on the USCIS website is not given with the NOA1 or am I wrong? If so, then no way for anyone to check status?
