May 2010 I-751 filers

Is it just me or are biometrics appointments coming later than usual from the VSC? Someone mentioned it might have to do with their double-letter glitch. In any case, are early biometrics being allowed these days? We would be going to the Atlanta service center. From what I have read, you just have to take your letter and try, and if they are nice they will let you go early. Fingers crossed that the other letters come soon!!!

I had my biometrics taken today, so now the wait continues... I really hope they won't call us for an interview since my husband won't be back from Iraq until November

I remember how I felt when Daniel left for Iraq and I was still waiting for my AOS. Luckily we got approved without an interview. I did have his deployment orders, last will & testament, a letter written by him stating his inability to come to the interview and explaining our relationship. He also informed his rear detatchment that if I was called for interview then 1 E6 or above will accompany me. Keep everything ready just in case. Hopefully you won't have an interview though

Yes, there was a glitch in their systems. I got mine after a month of my NOA so hopefully the systems are fine now and everybody's letters will be coming soon. You can go for an early biometrics with the letter and a photo ID but whether they will let you do it depends on how busy they are. Most people have been successful, some have not. Worth a try if you live closeby

Thank you for that info. I have sent his deployment orders with the original application since there is a question that asks if the sponsor is out of the country. However, i haven't included any letters by him or anything so I just hope our evidence will be enough.

We are still waiting- called the misinformation line and of course they put in a service request and said to wait another 45 days. We were planning to travel next month and will probably have to put off our travel plans.

Anyone have any luck with early biometrics in New Orleans?

Something seems to be wrong. I wonder if the huge 2007 group is moving through the system now and we will see delays this year from the filers who were beating the fee increases.....

When I called the misinformation line 2 weeks ago, they told me to expect the biometrics letter around the end of July.

This could also be happening due to the glitch they had in their system where everyone was receiving 2 biometrics appointments. So, to analyze the situation, their system is backed up by 1 month (since everyone received 2 letters which is equivalent to two months). My guess is they are working on the problem but I doubt they completely fixed it. Also, the new GC could have slowed the system down since probably they do not allow the quota to go above a certain number for GC production - then it will look like they are approving too many people since the GC quota is running high....

Are you saying that there is a certain number of approvals that USCIS targets per month and that if they approve too many, they stop processing for some time?

If that is the case, then why have a separate notification for approval and green card ordering? I can understand that they are backlogged on green card production, but why should they let that backlog affect adjudication?

I am merely guessing here, but I am sure that they operate as any other governmental office. I am also sure that a glitch in the system will slow down operations.
