I called them last week and they told me to not expect the biometrics note until the end of July and that the total timeframe until approval will be 6 months or longer.

She mentioned that all cases of people who apply for removal of conditions are being entered into the "Marriage Fraud Database" and undergo extra thorough checks.

*sigh*

*sigh*

To me, it sounds like they just came up with a new idea of what to tell people who "bother" them with phonecalls. This is not "new news" - of course everyone goes into a database to check for fraud... or else this ROC step is not necessary :bonk:

Just allow some more time and then probably schedule an infopass if a local office is close to you.

I called USCIS yesterday to see if they had sent me the biometrics letter. I was not told anything about the extra checks or anything just that USCIS usually mails those letters within 30 days of the NOA. She asked me to call back once its 30 days if I still don't receive it. I guess I will be calling back to see whats up unless I get it in the next 3-4 days :)

I called them last week and they told me to not expect the biometrics note until the end of July and that the total timeframe until approval will be 6 months or longer.

She mentioned that all cases of people who apply for removal of conditions are being entered into the "Marriage Fraud Database" and undergo extra thorough checks.

*sigh*

Seems to me the most likely reason why biometric appointment letters are taking longer than usual is the recent issue with people receiving two appointments.

If they keep scheduling the same person for more than one appointment they are in essence creating an "imaginary backlog". It's happened so much recently that I'm guessing they've caught on by now and are trying to rectify the problem and streamline the process so that it doesn't happen anymore. Also add to that they are changing over everyone's PRC to the new one and that might be another reason for the minor delays.

If that is indeed the issue lets all hope they fix the problems soon.

I agree. Thats what I thought so too but you know how it is dealing with the USCIS, just don't want to take a chance and sit on it to find out later that I missed my biometrics. The good thing is that none of us have got the letter after a couple who filed after me.
