my son (k2) is filling out for the aos, forms want A#...dhould I use mine because he doesnt have one, nothing on his passport, nothing anywhere...or could I/should I leave it blank?

12/25/2001 : Met on telephone thanks to mutual friend

03/02/2001 : Met face to face at a concert in Sault Ste Marie Michigan

07/06/2004 : I-129F Sent

07/19/2004 : I-129F NOA1 (Receipt)

10/20/2004 : I-129F NOA2 (Approved)

11/01/2004 : Package Received By NVC

11/04/2004 : Rec'd Instructions (Pkt 3)

07/01/2005 : Completed Instructions (Pkt 3)

09/01/2005 : Rec'd Appointment Letter (Pkt 4)

11/07/2005 : Interview!!!

11/20/2005 : Visa Received

12/03/2005 : US Entry, finally home

02/04/2006 : Wedding !!!

02/13/2006 : AOS, AP & EAD filed

02/16/2006 : AOS, EAD & AP rec'd

Are you absolutely positive he doesn't have one somewhere? On an NOA or something? I don't know how it works if you come over with a child on the same petition, but my understanding of the A# is that it is yours personally. If I am correct then using yours would be bad!

If no one else has a more concrete answer and you are positive he doesn't have one, I would first try calling USCIS number for help and when that doesn't work, just write N/A, maybe even attach a note of explanation? Good luck

he is follow to join, there was never an NOA for him, I got mine for the original petition, then we went for the interview to montreal, listed him as follow to join, when it was time for him to come we just mailed them an envelope to mail us the visa back in along with a letter requesting the visa and a copy of my marriage certificate and visa and they mailed him his visa....nothing in the visa either, where my A# is listed on mine, his says my name in that spot....????

Sorry, I have no experience with this and no idea. I am sure someone will come along with the info, but I would still say not to use your A# for him, but thats just an opinion, not based on any facts.

hi,

my K2 son haven't got his A#(alien registration number) as well in his passport, bcos his visa application was derived in my I-129F files but we got different I-94#. I just recently sent our AOS (I-485) , i leave it blank in my K2 A#, bcos some thread ive read that USCIS will assigned A# to my K2 son when on process of his adjustment of Status, which we will be given 2 AOS-NOA's for me and for my son seperately and it will shows in there his own A#.

11-17-06 - "K1 APPROVED AOS" no interview

Just put none on his A# slots. My son had gotten his alien number in his receipt notice for his AOS application.

Hello:

Im filling my son's documentation for AOS. That is one of the questions I had, because I entered on a K1 visa and after 8 months he entered on a K2 visa, but I could not find the A# on any of the documents!! Thanks for the tips!
