I have a dilemma here: Since my husband wants to come for the interview and to pick me up, but we are unsure of when will passport with the visa will be given to me after the interview, what would you guys recommend if we had to choose? Him coming for the interview or picking me up so I don't go through POE by myself? Please HELP!!!!

Our time line for CR1 visa took only 5 months and 1 week or 156 days; from the filing the I-130 on the 03-12-2009 to Approval of NOA2 on the 05/13/2009, then Interview on the 08/18/2009 at Manila, Philippines. We had a daughter on the 11-12-2010 named AISHA JOY means HAPPY LIFE.a1_opt-1.jpga2_opt-1.jpga3_opt-1.jpg

Okay, well assuming that this is a financial decision and he can either go for the interview or go to pick you up and bring you back, I think I would lean towards the interview as his support will be much more important then, whereas the POE part it will just be the whole new-ness of moving and the sadness of leaving your family. As you state, he (like me) wants to do both. Any possibility of him flying to at least meet you at the POE. That might be an okay compromise. I hope it all works out and you get to do both :)

Speaking from recent experience (May '09), he can do both!!!!! I went down for my husband's interview, which was on a Wednesday. They do not allow visa pick-up on Thursday, so we went Friday to pick up his passport w/visa. Then we fllew out together on the next Tuesday.

Since it is cheap (relatively) for significant others to travel to Costa Rica, there is A LOT of weight put on both of you being there at the interview. I am happy to give you lots more specifics on the interview. Just send me a PM!

K3 Interview 05/20/2009

POE Atlanta 05/26/2009

EAD NOA1 06/01/2009

EAD NOA2 08/2009

I-485 Sent 04/07/2010

I-485 NOA1 04/16/2010

Biometrics 04/28/2010 (assigned appt. date is 5/17/10, but we did an early walk-in with no problems!)

I-485 Interview 09/13/2010 (originally set for July, but had to reschedule, since we were in Europe then)

Waiting on GC to come in the mail!!!
