Hi everyone!

I am from San Diego, CA and sent my N-400 on 10/9/2009, they cashed the check already and today I got my NOA. I wonder how long does the whole process takes?

Is anyone else from San Diego applying for citizenship??

Hi everyone!

Hi Clo, welcome to VJ! The process time can really vary depending on how quickly they run through your case and if you get any RFEs, etc. Roughly though it seems to be taking about 5-6 months judging by other timelines I've seen around the forums :star: Most people get their interviews within 3 months or so.

08/15/09- Wedding

10/16/09- Mailed out AOS package

01/14/10- Interview completed - Approved!

01/23/10- Conditional Green Card received!

ROC

10/17/11- Mailed ROC package

10/19/11- Package arrives at VSC

10/20/11- NOA1 issued

10/24/11- "Touch"

10/24/11- Check cashed

10/26/11- NOA1 received

11/23/11- Biometrics appointment

01/14/12- Conditional GC Expired

07/17/12- Approved! - Notification of card production

hello buddies.. I have a big problem.. We're planning to move to our new house by end of November.. When will I notify the USCIS? I haven't received yet my Schedule for my Biometrics.. But I'm expecting it by next week or on the first week of November.. Will I notify USCIS after I get my schedule? Since will be moving by last week of November..

HELP! :(

10-16-09 - NOA1 dated

10-19-09 - checks cashed

10-22-09 - Received NOA1 (I-485,I-765,I-131)

10-26-09 - got my biometric appointment letter dated oct. 21

11-06-09 - got transfer notice to CSC dated nov. 2

11-09-09 - biometric appointment done...

11-24-09 - Received email notification about EAD has been ordered.

11-24-09 - EAD and AP approval emails

11-30-09 - AP received

12-04-09 - EAD received

12-10-09 - I-485 Approved email noticed

12-18-09 - GC received

12-18-09 - done my SSN

Hmm I wonder if there is a way that you can notify them ahead of time to let them know you will be moving so they can forward your mail there starting at that date. I would call the customer service number and ask. If not, notify them the day you move.

yay! congrats! we've sent our docs 2 days after you, so our NOA's are on the way.... hopefully :whistle:

2009.10.09 - I-130 and I-485 sent to Chicago, IL (Day 1)

2009.10.10 - Documents delivered (Day 2)

2009.10.20 - Both checks are cashed! yeah! (Day 12)

2009.10.24 - Got 4 letters: NOA for I-130, dated October 19th, NOA for I-485, dated October 19th, NOA for I-765, dated October 19th and Invitation for biometrics, dated October 21st, for Noverber 5th, 1:00 PM! yay!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Day 16)

2009.10.27 - RFE sent by USCIS (Day 19)

2009.10.31 - RFE letter (form I-864) received in the mail (Day 23)

2009.11.05 - Biometrics done in Alexandria, VA (Day 28)

2009.11.14 - RFE sent back to Lee's Summit, MO (Day 37)

2009.11.16 - RFE delivered (Day 39)

also, make sure you notify the local post office of your address change in case it doesn't USCIS try to send you your biometrics app in the mean time.

they will forward your mail to your new address before it gets delivered to the wrong place.

it's a good idea to this anyway, for all your other mail.

11/05/09: Sent RFE back and received Biometrics appointment for 11/19 (I-485)

11/09/09: Received NOA for I-765 (finally!)

11/11/09: RFE received, case resumed

11/19/09: Biometrics done for I-485 (and I-765 without appointment letter!) - both touched PM

12/03/09: EAD card production ordered

12/07/09: EAD received

12/10/09: Received an e-mail saying I-765 was approved.... a little late!

12/11/09: Received interview appointment letter: January 11th, 8:40am

01/11/10: APPROVED at interview!

01/19/10: Green card received (It's not green.)

stay off VJ (during the weekend).. LOL! I don't think so everyone can do this because of the anxiety and paranoia.. after getting my GC.. I'll be diagnose of having Schiz or the Generalized Anxiety Disorder.. LOL.. :lol::no::lol::no: 'cause of 6 months of worrying, sleepless nights, anxiety, etc.. Driving us all crazy!

soooo... we checked our account today and our checks have been cashed! YAAAAAY!

then, when i got home from work i found a letter from uscis in the mailbox, yay, or so i thought. turns out it was a rejection notice for my i-765. i used an expired version of the form.

and here is the first hurdle. i thought i checked everything a million times but oh no. let's hope this is the only thing.

i wonder if they will continue processing 130 and 485 whilst they wait for my 765?

bummer.

hopefully the good noas will be in the mail tomorrow.....
