BTW, does anyone know what it means when your case is transferred to the National Benefits Center? I can't remember if I asked this before, but my husband's I-485 was transferred to the NBC when we got our first touch on 10/23. Is this a good or bad thing? Has anyone else's case been transferred here?

I woudn't worry about it, Rebecca. I am sure the transfer has been done for a faster, more effective processing. Did you get that in the email?

I am also adjusting from J-1.

About J-1 ...at the AOS interview I was asked the following questions:

1. What business/company did you work for on a J-1 visa?- I was working for an Au Pair Agency, I gave him the name, address...

2. Were you subject of section 212(e)? (Thank God, I wasn't). Can you prove that?(I showed him that it was written on my visa in my passport and also it is written in the DS...(forgot the number, sorry! :innocent: ) form-I pointed the paragraph to him. )

Oh those are easy questions, good!! I hope that's all they ask my hubby :) So they didn't ask for any proof of ties to your home country or intent to marry at POE?

No questions about ties to my home country...Those questions were asked at the interview for obtaining the visa, about 5 years ago. Probably it was obvious that there was no intention to get married when I arrived in US, as I got married 5 years later....

Ranchomesa... Yes, you can call the 1-800 number and there is live person where you can talk to. I'll be updating you next week. Let's just pray that everything will be fine. Are you in SoCal? Where is your local USCIS office? Mine is in San Bernardino.

That's true. We might bring my hubby's evidence just in case, since we knew each other before he got here.
