Hi Greg001

What is I693 for? I do not remember that we have ever filled a form like that. The ASC that we used is USCIS Philadelphia, 10300 DRUMMOND RD, PA 19154.

I am eagerly waiting for the EAD so that I can start looking for a job. I do not have a work permit yet.

Good luck everyone!

Thanks fli65. I've updated the spreadsheet. The I693 is the medical exam and vaccination record form. Many intending immigrants have the medical and vaccinations done prior to entering the US. Some file the 693 with their AOS package, some don't. Some that don't submit the 693 get an RFE, others don't. It's inconsistent.

Good for you getting a walk in bio. That should speed up the process for your EAD.

Hi fli65,

I-693 is the medical examination form. I filed it with my I-485 but I believe you can file it seperately when requested.

And thanks Greg, yep that makes sense. I just gotta hope it arrives soon! Or that'll be 2 trips down south.

Sorry Greg001! I did not remember the form number becasue I did not bother open them when we got from the physician. Yes, I did included them together with our I-485 forms.

I'm not at your stage yet.

I'm waiting for our checks to clear/NOA's. I saw on some people's timelines that their checks cleared in a few days. Yours and a few others timelines are actually helping me not to panic.

Fingers crossed you get your biometric appointments tomorrow :star:

Ranchomesa.. Can you check on your NOA if what is the notice date? Mine is October 14. So I just have to wait until November 14 for the Bio Letter to arrive. If still I haven't received it then I should notify and call the USCIS. I didn't receive any transfers to California Service Center. The last update in my Case Status was last October 26.

BTW, does anyone know what it means when your case is transferred to the National Benefits Center? I can't remember if I asked this before, but my husband's I-485 was transferred to the NBC when we got our first touch on 10/23. Is this a good or bad thing? Has anyone else's case been transferred here?

Ours is at the National Benefits Center as well. Our receipt number starts MSC, I guess for Missouri Service Center. (NBC is MSC)

I think that's pretty standard. Well, I hope so anyway! I see a lot on the forums about Lee's Summit, MO.

Congrats on your bio by the way!

Yes it is comforting to have another J1. I don't think adjustment from J1 is uncommon.

The only thing I'm worried about at interview is proving that I had no intent to immigrate when I arrived. I mean, I didn't, I know I didn't but how can I prove that. I have docs and stuff but it just makes me nervous.

You guys should be Ok because there are is almost a year between your hub's arrival and the wedding.

Anyway, keep sharing.

On a lighter note, our case resumed today. We responded to the RFE but didn't have a full birth certificate to prove US citizenship only federal employees IDs and a baptismal certificate, and apparently that is enough! Good news. (We ordered the expedited birth certificate for $60 to be prepared if the RFE came back. Unnecessary $60... darnit.)

I know what you mean, we have the same concerns. We might print out some bank statements from the account my husband had in Canada while living here. I'm thinking this might help prove that he still had ties to Canada when he came on a J1. If you have things like that maybe you could get copies.

I'm glad your case resumed =) We are on stand still now until we do the bio appt. The I-485 that was transferred still says "Acceptance"...they haven't even moved it to "Initial Evidence" :/

I am also adjusting from J-1.

About J-1 ...at the AOS interview I was asked the following questions:

1. What business/company did you work for on a J-1 visa?- I was working for an Au Pair Agency, I gave him the name, address...

2. Were you subject of section 212(e)? (Thank God, I wasn't). Can you prove that?(I showed him that it was written on my visa in my passport and also it is written in the DS...(forgot the number, sorry! :innocent: ) form-I pointed the paragraph to him. )
