I was told to post the following in this section of the forum as there is more expertice here.

I posted the following in The Foreign Embassy and Consulate General Discussion:

We are very disappointed.

My fiancée had her interview at Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. on the 15th of July. She took all the papers which were examined by a clerk at the first counter. He said that all the papers and documents are complete and in order.

Then she was questioned by a consul officer. According to my fiancée he made fun of her, was condescending, that I did not spend enough money on the engagement ring, that our relationship is not compelling, we did not have proper engagement ceremony, etc.etc….

Her two children who were included in I129F were not interviewed.

My fiancée informed at it is not customary to have such a ceremony in our community, and she urged him, (even though she was upset) to read the email; look at the telephone log etc.

After looking at the emails, he informed her that he was satisfied with the relationship, and gave her a BLUEP PAPER marked 221(g)

He also told her that it may take some time to get her the visa; she needs to come back after her number appears on the following Abu Dhabi embassy website

http://uae.usembassy.gov/immigrant_status.html

My fiancee is an East Indian divorece, has worked in Dubai for 10 years, with two children, 20 and 16. The daughter will turn 21 on Sept. 20, 2006.

They were all planning to come to U.S. soon, so as to start AOS beforethe daughter is "AGED OUT"

The papers she got from the consulate:

1. In the optional form 194( the exact#is not clear)

221(g) box is checked, the next line is, Administrative processing

2. The Second piece of paper:

Your case needs further administrative procesing ec, etc..., and tells to contact the embassy after the case number appears on the web site

I sicerely hope it will be solved soon.

I will email the consulate and try to contact the NVC.

1. Has any one experianced such situation?

2. How long will it take for 221g to clear.

3. What should my next course of action, shouls I Email the consulate? My fiancee got two papers:

Please help

In my experience, most of us in this forum who have been through the interview process with our SOs received 221g's for administrative processing. I have no intelligent answer on time frame. We've been waiting almost 4 months now for processing to complete. Some don't wait as long, others longer.

The 221g your SO received is a normal thing, and *hopefully* things will go smoothly. For some Admisistrative Processing takes around 2 weeks and at ther times it could be months for thme to finish. There really in no true time frame for it.

That being said.....I will pray that it passes quickly and smoothly for you all.

:( Wow  , I am very shocked at the officers comments...that is so not cool, not respectful at all...wow shocked... I sometimes think these officers in these iNS offices get a kick out of being nasty to us...either making ill mannered jokes or being out-right rude... Everytime i leave the INS office I am in pissy mood... sorry to complain...but that comment really is so bad... I am sorry for you fiancee and we will pray for both of you to get through this process soon...and be reunited....

Yes the comments were very uncalled for, but my guess is she was being tested. It does sound like normal AR, but timelines are all over the place. I wish I had a better answer for you.

'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, What a Ride'
