Necessary timelines?

Timeline

not to sound like a total prude here but what about making Timelines necessary to join? This would ensure that spammers and freaks would possibly think twice before setting up a bogus account. AND, I find nothing more annoying that reading something and then going, hmmm... wonder what their timeline was like only to find... there isn't one. For the purely utilitarian function of this site, not having a timeline sort of defeats the purpose a bit.

Just my humble...

Thanks,

LGG

I think making Timelines compulsory could mess up this function completely.....I personally never took much notice of it as it is totally reliant on members keeping it up to date and entering correct information, when I did use it it's estimation of when my application would be complete it was a good 4 months out...as I had been a member here for a long time I knew that wasn't a correct estimation.

VJ is place for information and guidance foremost, some people are just looking for that before they even have a timeline...like me...I didn't have one for a good two years, the reason I say it may mess up the function is because if it is compulsory on joining we will just get a lot of false timelines in the system, imo.

OH yeah... I agree, I was just suggesting as someone who really doesn't know how it would bung up the system. I just find having a quick look handy as I don't follow everyone's postings and such! No harm, no foul, right?

You'd probably find that the timelines would become even less accurate. A spammer would put random dates in etc. Can you imagine the effect on the K1 time charts if 50 users reported they got their visas in 7 days?
