Depend on how good Indonesia postal service is. For me to send something to my wife would take up to 3 weeks. I know it's crazy over there about mailing and stuff. My wife told me that sometime they received your mail but wait until they get a bunch of them that goes to the same village then they deliver it all at once.

Bali isn't a rural area, so I think she will get the packet soon.

It's been a little over 10 days.

Wait one more week or so, and if she still doesn't get it you can request for mailing status or resent the whole packet (assuming you made a copy of it?)

You should have gotten a tracking number with priority international mail. I use it all the time with my business, and I can track my packages on the usps website. Check your receipt for a number that begins with "CJ" and ends with "US". The only downside is that the US Postal Service has no control over how packages are tracked once they leave the US. Sometimes the online tracking just says the package was shipping from the international distribution center (usually San Francisco) for a week or so, and then suddenly says that it was delivered. Other times, it says when it arrived in the foreign country, when it entered customs, when it cleared customs, when it went out for delivery, and when it was delivered. Also, some countries have packages sitting in customs for up to a week (the UK, for example). Other countries clear customs within a few hours (Japan, for example).

I don't like using private couriers for international shipping. They charge too damn much, and they often charge a service fee to the recipient (UPS, for example). In some countries you have no choice, because the postal service has too many employees who rifle through packages looking for valuables.

Regular post takes about 14 to 21 days. However sending Priority mail GUARENTEED should be there in 3 days. I ahve send several things to HCM this way and it has always been on time. DON'T use FED_EX unless you really want to spend the money, USPS has the priorty MAIL GUARENTEED for about half of what fed-ex charges and it has not fail me yet.

I ahve sent thing regular first class mail also and have had a FEW letter lost. LETTERS are impoprtant for proof, because a had written letter with an offical date postal stamp can not really be faked. BETTER than email it can be faked. 2 letters a month is very good. I HAVE NEVER had anything lost with USPS Priority MAil intenational Guarenteed. Never send anything important just regular FIRST CLASS MAIL.

Hey guys,

I am still new to VJ but this is something I have experience in. I have sent important documents to many countries all over the world. Trust me, if you are sending important documentation, do NOT send it using regular First Class Mail. If you want to use the USPS (which I do), always and I repeat always use either Priority Mail International or Express Mail International. I personally use Express Mail International but sometimes I use Priority Mail International. It may cost a little more then regular mail but it will save you problems. I have never had mail lost with either of these two. It is worth noting that these are just my experiences. Others may have experienced otherwise. Just my advise to you :)
