My fiance finally has his interview scheduled for October 13-yeah! I have seen two different versions of how the interview fee can be paid, one says he can pay same day at the Consulate and the other says he has to pay in advance at NCB and bring the receipt with him to the Consulate. Can someone please let me know if the same day payment option is true? And, off this particular topic and out of curiosity because I am concerned...there is absolutely no way I can get work off to attend his interview as it is my busiest time of the year and have to go to an conference on the 15th in cancun (believe me it is not optional!). I know it is important to be there and I wish I had some way around these obligations, have any of you been in this situation and what was the outcome? Thanks Yardies!

leeann, I haven't been in that situation, but what some people did was write/get a letter indicating why they couldn't attend. Others didn't have this. Since you can't be there, evidence might be more looked at. We didn't show any of the evidence we brought and still got approved, but that could be that my presence was evidence enough.

I did see a place to pay there, but they checked for the receipt before letting us into the embassy. I recommend paying in advance, just to avoid any extra hassle at an already stressful time.

Wow Leann, our interview is for the SAME day!!! I cannot be there at the interview so I wrote a letter explaining why I can't be there and asked my fiance to only show if they ask for it. We did our fee at NCB already so we will have it for the interview.

Strangely enough, I also contacted the consulate on September 10 to find out that they had set our interview date for the 13th because packet 4 seemed to be stalled out. Turns out I am just impatient and it arrived to him the next day! Thank you for the payment info. and advice on the letter explaining my absence. Best of luck to you guys on the 13th, well and to all of the Yardies going through this process!
