Hello everyone, I am not sure if this information is already available in another topic, but I did not find it. My question is, how does one know when a case is forwarded to NVC after the NOA2 approval? Also, how can you know when NVC sends one's case to the beneficiary's embassy? Thank you in advance.

****_____________________________________****

With a lot of faith and hope in God, I started this process:

03/15/2009: Sent form I129F to Vermont Service Center

03/17/2009: Received NOA 1

09/11/2009: Still waiting, haven't received anything else. (Frustrated!)

09/30/2009: Received e-mail from USCIS saying they approved my case! Thank you God!

10/05/2009: NOA2 came in the mail! So happy!

We're getting closer and closer!!!!!!!!!!!

After the NOA2, your case is sent to the NVC.

Then the foreign fiance receives Packet 3 with information on what to gather, and information on the medical exam. The packet will give you all the information you will need to proceed, along with the consulate location where the eventual interview will take place.

Good luck.

you need to call NVC and ask them if they received your case. you will need your receipt number written on NOA1.

Same thing if you wanna learn when NVC forwarded it to the embassy.

Gil,

In your above post (since I only am at the "waiting for NOA2" stage)

might I infer that the receipt numbers on your NOA1 and NOA2 are

the same? You indicated that the receipt number is the reference

used in calling the NVC, an event which would have happened

after your NOA2 was received. If the receipt numbers were different it

wouldn't make so much sense to reference the NOA1 number unless

it was the same as the NOA2. Am I off base on this?

yes you are right. they are the same numbers. I just thought the OP might not have received the NOA2 hard copy yet since he/she did not mention it. that's why I said NOA1 cause he/she will need the number when he/she calls. sorry if I caused some kind of confusion.

by the way, you do not have to wait to receive NOA2 hard copy to call NVC. you can call them a few days after your case is approved.

Hi everybody, thanks for replying. Actually I did receive my NOA2 through e-mail (not hard copy yet), so I just wanted to know what I could do to find out when NVC receives the case. Thanks again to all of you! :)

This is for Theradine....

Hey just noticed this! Did you receive package 3? If you received NOA2 since November, your approval will expire sometime in March. So make sure you contact the NVC to get your case number. ANd then email the embassy requesting information about your case and also requesting package 3 via email. My fiance never received the package 3 they mailed to him through DHL, I'm happy that we requested it by email as well or we would have never received it.

I also suggest you write a letter requesting that your approval be made longer by 4 more months just in case... I'm going to email you...
