Sure this post is more about the law than one's personal beliefs or even criticizing another beliefs. Just find it ironic that our city counsel meetings start off with a prayer from one of the local clergymen, same with congress, and presidents frequently use that "god" word, but not permitted in our schools.

I have no problem with people praying, if that's what they want to do and as long as there is no requirement for others to do so who do not wish to participate. I have a huge problem with people making up ####### about what those who don't want religious indoctrination in public schools do want to see as part of the curriculum, particularly when with totally disingenuous sleight of hand, thoroughly good ideas like teaching sex education and the proper use of condoms is transformed into sexual promiscuity and anything goes clap trap.

However, it makes the narrow minded feel good, I know because they do like to feel they are victims of librul evil doing.

I think it's supposed to add credibility to the Jesus franchise. Who could possibly come up with

such a ridiculous story? It must be true then...

I have never heard of a Jesus Franchise?...?...?...? but, I will grant you/agree with you completely that it is difficult to understand to understand the Trinity...and yes...it requires some amount of faith, which is precisely why I believe it. It is a mystery.

I don't think you understand how public schools operate any more than the OP does.

Damn MarkNAam, you got in the way!

You believe in something because it doesn't make sense and requires one to dismiss the normal physical laws that we experience every day? I see ;)

No, not really. I believe because its in my (L), it doesn't have anything to do with normal physical laws that we experience every day. I just happen to think that God might be above those laws... Would you agree that this is possible? Just curious?

This is a statement that was read over the PA system at the football game at Roane County High School , Kingston , Tennessee , by school Principal, Jody McLeod

"It has always been the custom at Roane County High School football games, to say a prayer and play the National Anthem, to honor God and Country."

Due to a recent ruling by the Supreme Court, I am told that saying a Prayer is a violation of Federal Case Law. As I understand the law at this time, I can use this public facility to approve of sexual perversion and call it "an alternate life style," and if someone is offended, that's OK.

I can use it to condone sexual promiscuity, by dispensing condoms and calling it, "safe sex.." If someone is offended, that's OK.

I can even use this public facility to present the merits of killing an unborn baby as a "viable! means of birth control." If someone is offended, no problem...

I can designate a school day as "Earth Day" and involve students in activities to worship religiously and praise the goddess "Mother Earth" and call it "ecology..."

I can use literature, videos and presentations in the classroom that depicts people with strong, traditional Christian convictions as "simple minded" and "ignorant" and call it "enlightenment.."

However, if anyone uses this facility to honor GOD and to ask HIM to Bless this event with safety and good sportsmanship, then Federal Case Law is violated..

This appears to be inconsistent at best, and at worst, diabolical.

Apparently, we are to be tolerant of everything and anyone, except GOD and HIS Commandments.

Nevertheless , as a school principal, I frequently ask staff and students to abide by rules with which they do not necessarily agree. For me to do otherwise would be inconsistent at best, and at worst, hypocritical... I suffer from that affliction enough unintentionally.... I certainly do not need to add an intentional transgression.

For this reason, I shall "Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's," and refrain from praying at this time.

"However, if you feel inspired to honor, praise and thank GOD and ask HIM, in the name of JESUS, to Bless this event, please feel free to do so. As far as I know, that's not against the law----yet."

One by one, the people in the stands bowed their heads, held hands with one another and began to pray.

They prayed in the stands.. They prayed in the team huddles. They prayed at the concession stand and they prayed in the Announcer's Box!

The only place they didn't pray was in the Supreme Court of the United States of America- the Seat of "Justice" in the "one nation, under GOD.."

Somehow, Kingston , Tennessee Remembered what so many have forgotten. We are given the Freedom OF Religion, not the Freedom FROM Religion. Praise GOD that HIS remnant remains!

JESUS said, "If you are ashamed of ME before men, then I will be ashamed of you before MY FATHER..."

Good to see the school Principal finally understands Freedom FROM religion. I suggest he keep it in his home and church where I couldn't possible care less what he does and what rules he applies to himself and his family. Leave ME out of it. I do not wish to be controlled by religion any more than by government, I do not want indoctrination in our public schools by Obama...or religion.

Homosexuality is not a sexual perversion, nor is it an alternate lifestyle. And no one in public life is asked to "approve" of it - only to ensure that homosexuals are not discriminated against in their institutions. The connotations in the first sentence above are clearly indicative of homophobia and intolerance.

Dispensing condoms does not "condone sexual promiscuity". A coherent safe-sex message should consist of making condoms available AND ALSO urging young people in schools to be responsible in their sex lives, to strongly consider abstinence or monogamy. No one in a position of responsible authority should be condoning "promiscuity". Again - only a person with a biased agenda would twist and contort his phrasing in this way.

"Killing an unborn baby" is apparently intended as a euphemism for abortion. An embryo or zygote at less than 10 weeks gestation is not a "baby". This is a charged and emotional subject, with passionate feelings by many in our society. Using charged and emotionally evocative phrasing has only one purpose in mind: to divide people and to anger them, not to find common ground. To the writer of such words, an educator - I say shame on you.

I'd be curious to see specific citations to "religious worship" and goddess terminology in the context of Earth Day. How bogus.

I concur. If we are to mention world religions as part of the Social Sciences curricula, goody. Otherwise they just don't have a place in the PUBLIC schools. Any of them.

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

In all seriousness, no. There is no factor 'g' available that still allows for the physical laws as we understand them to remain true after the introduction of the 'g' variable into the equation. If you introduce 'g' (as in physical laws that only god has access to) into the mathamatical model of the physial laws that we use every day in order to create and maintain everything from housing to space rockets the introduction of 'g' necessarily renders every equation invalid and therefore creates chaos where currently we have order and predictability.
