GREEN CARD IS COMING FINALLY

Some might rememebr that my wife had a successful AOS interview in St. Louis, Mo. on October 19th, 2005, but nothing at all ever happened after that. All was silent even as we called the 800 number 3 times. I was persuaded, however, to file an I-90 with supporting info from the interview, and this we did in April of 2006. The silence continued, so we went for and Infopass appointment in St. Louis on June 30th. What we learned was very conflicting, but we were told nothing was wrong, and that work on my wife's card had begun on June 27th.

Keep that date in mind as I inform you that we got a letter in the mail from Lee's Summit National Benefits Center dated July 11th, 2006 stating that work on my wife's card had begun and she should have in in 2 to 4 weeks now.

That same day I recieved and e-mail (not her) stating that she was finally approved on her AOS as of July 13th, 2006, and that a new card was being made for her. She should have the card soon, they say.

An online check with the website at USCIS.gov verifes exactly the July 13th, 2006 information, so we know it is true. I can't help believeing that our paperwork has sat around like a McDonald's hamberger all this time until they finally found it again. Look at the dates. Approved October 19th, 2005. Card started June 27th, 2006. Card started July 11th, 2006. Finally approved July 13th, 2006 and card now being made.

Conflicting to us as to what they were doing, but we are thankful that the long wait is now over and she gets a card soon.

Any ideas as to what had happened here?

That is really sad how you got the total runaround with your GC, but the important thing now, is it should be on its way. I certainly hope you get it soon, and can sit back and relax for two year!

Congratulations on finally getting an approval. This just goes to show that nobody should ever sit and wait for long periods of time for something to be done to their case. Taking some type of action is definitely the way to go!!!
