Hello every one, This would be Tom without Judy on this post. I have sad news,

Judy has decided not to go to the interview. This comes as a shock to me, but to some of you saw this coming.

Her reason is simple, One of her past boyfriends came back. And to keep it short. Money was involved.

She still wants to be friends. I still do talk to her.

But she is telling me now that I have to wait 2 years before I can file another Petition for someone else.

And for her it's 6 months for someone to file a petition on her behalf......IS THIS TRUE?

My orignal posts were under the name of Hoping2..

I am not sure sence you didnt get the visa but if you had received the visa you have to wait 2 years or get a waiver. as for the 6 months for her I dont know on that one. do you have someone else in mind already? If not 2 years will go by fast if you are starting over with a new GF. Sorry about the bad new and good luck on the future!

another bad news.. sad thing is.. some people will generalize the idea that filipinas

are like this... i feel really bad for you Tom.. but i think this is a blessing in disguise for you

it means you deserve someone better than this materialistic girl... and you dont deserve such a

person like her with low maturity... she needs to grow up...

God will bless you with a better woman that you only deserve and will give you happiness.

I will pray and wish you all the best!

I'm sorry to hear this happened to you.

But, the problem I have with these kinds of posts (and there are MANY) is that you you are already worried about whether (and when) you can apply for a different person.

What ever happened to giving some time to getting past the current relationship and then when you're ready, getting involved with someone else? And WHY would you not try to meet someone in your own country to make things simpler on everyone?

I realize everyone here on VJ has married (or plans to marry) someone from a foreign country (including myself), but I certainly didn't plan it that way. I would much rather have met and married someone in my home country of Canada, but when I met my husband online, it was not a planned thing.

I just don't get it!!!

But she is telling me now that I have to wait 2 years before I can file another Petition for someone else.

WRONG!

You can apply anytime for a spouse visa and anytime with a KI with a waiver which is easy to get.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

Neither of you has any waiting period of any kind. If you file another petition within two years, you'll need to request a waiver in your cover letter.

Finally ... someone actually answers the OP's question instead of giving relationship advice! Yes, an IMBRA waiver for filing limitations (filing within 2 years of a previously approved petition) would be required (routinely granted). Good luck.

I would like to add: She was using the 2 year wait period to rub in my face, that all she had to wait was 6 months.

And this other relationship with her past boyfriend had been going on since last June. Hiding it from me. I also was sending her money to help with her support all this time.

I have not cancelled the petition for her as I still have hope for her. But now after finding out about her past boyfriend.

I think it is best to cancel the petiton. But she is still trying to hang onto me. Maybe in case her past boyfriend doesn't show..

I feel used over this and will be more cautious in the future.

Tom

She is wrong. You can file as many petitions as you like and as quickly one after the other as you like.

What you do need to include in the next one is a letter (the waiver), stating exactly what you told us and that you are filing for a new person.

And for her, anyone can file another petition at any time for her, as many as they want.

Whew! My judgement is base on what I see, okay. Mukhang beterana na sa ganito yong fiance. I mean, seems she is too old enough to play around. She even looks older than my mom. It seems that she definitely a user. Let me guess, mas mayaman yong isang boyfriend kaya mas pinili nya yon.

Tom, you seen to be taken in by a heartless individual who used you horribly. Happens every day, between foreign spouses, same country spouses, same sex spouses....and so on. Dont be sucked back in by her, for goodness sake. She sounds very manipulative, and luckily for you...uniformed about the rules.

Good luck, take time to heal.....get yourself out there and have some fun...you deserve it.
