It's all phony speculation having nothing to do with official BLS stats. An economic stimulus is primarily to keep the economy going until there's a real upturn in the economy. The stimulus had little no short term impact and there's rarely any stats shown by anyone beyond "it could be worse".

This is true. It has probably helped to slow down the bleeding. It isn't going to be a magic fix in a couple of months. Time will tell of it's true impact.
